Man it sucks that my images are on lock but everyone ought to watch this video of a union leader in Ohio doing some speechifying for Barack Obama. Call it an appetizer to the debate.

...is all I could think about while watching this guy give his speech
That speech didn't go where I thought it was going to go, since it was from the Steel workers union. I'm a little surprised most of it was about race.

I haven't yet watched the video, but it is said that racism continues to be a major issue for blue-collar Democratic voters and that unions are aggressively confronting.

There was an NYT story a while back that ended with a quote by a Union guy basically saying that he was wary about voting for a black candidate until he saw the union's mailing telling him it would be okay.

I think you underestimate how pissed off Texans are right now.
And where else is he going to build them? Texas looks to be in single digits right now. Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Kansas, OK and the South don't look that close. Montana, the Dakotas and Omaha might work but they aren't that much closer than Texas (if they are as close) and a win in Texas would turn this in an absolute rip-the-heart-out-of-the-GOP rout.

We can dream. Maybe if I pass out during the debate it'll happen in a dream and I might wake up at least believing it for a little while.

She won't cry. But if she did, that would be the story, and it would be so huge that Biden's response wouldn't make much difference. The spotlight is so completely on her right now anyway.

I had a dream that McCain died and that I got in trouble for saying I was happy about it.

Seriously, I don't like Palin that much either, it's monumental amounts of wishful thinking to speculate that she'll cry at the debate.

Conversely, I'm looking forward to her getting hit by a meteor mid-sentence.

Hillary got away with crying in New Hampshire (not at a debate of course) because everyone in America already knew the woman was hard as nails. No one (or at least very few) questioned whether she had the steely demeanor necessary to be in the White House.

Palin hasn't built up that kind of aura of invulnerability. If she were to cry, millions of Americans will conclude that she can never be let near any sort of critical negotiation with foreign leaders. Or even with Congress.

The point is moot, though, since I can't believe that Palin will break down tonight. She's not that fragile.

Rick Noriega's Senate campaign. If they can turn out some Obama voters who wouldn't have gone the polls without those offices and get them to vote for the Democratic awesome military guy while they're at it that makes Noriega's job a little easier.

They could also use the offices to organize phonebanking or canvassing in other states.

I had a dream that I was Biden during the debate and I out-debated Palin so badly that she broke down and cried so I went over to console her telling her it's not her fault and that she should sit down and then I finished the debate while standing at her podium.

Prophetic? Maybe.
PRESS: "By outperforming Palin, Joe Biden just displayed his absolute loathing and disrespect of the female gender to all of America."
I am actually worried that she will cry. Biden's response will need to be spot on. I honestly don't know whether or not offering her a tissue or something will be the right move.

I'm pretty sure there will be no right move.
Are ...are you crying? There's no crying in politics!

True, even if it was forgone, it's a good place to get giant numbers of volunteers and use them to phone other states.

Tee-Hee. McCain said it's not the lobbyists that are the problem, it's the system. It can't possibly be both, I guess.
