 | Ok, let's have a little more fun. Outside of video games, people often take an artist's views into account when judging the artist. This is also true for pundits, who have little other than their opinion to sell. Pennyarcade is some mix of the two, with industry promoter and critic thrown into the mix. Fallout 3 is a controversial game, to say the least, and the decision to sell comics based on the game to Bethesda is as strong of an endorsement of the game as Gabe and Tycho can make. The fact that they endorse the game so strongly says something about their views on games, and knowing how they feel about this game, the franchise, etc makes the product they produce less appealing. A food critic's reviews become less relevent when he starts praising poor restaurants, and that effect is even stronger if he writes a blurb specifically to put on the menu. Does that seem so unreasonable? Clearly no one else here feels this way so its really pointless to discuss it further, but what the hell. |
