Granted, I didn't start reading Ultimate X until after I read Ultimates and large portion of USM, so my expectations were fairly high. And it started off good, but things like Xavier's kid are prime places to bring the retarded elements of the 616-line down to something that works.

Where did you get that idea?
The Ultimate line was started to gain new readers and tell stories unencumbered by years of continuity. That's it. Everything else was at the writers discretion, which is clear when you see that every single Ultimate line has people coming back from the dead, can-do-anything powers. |
