Come on, just look at the cute little fella.

Man, anything that is essentially carbon-copied to be a pokemon can't be bad.

I emailed the squid to my grandpa, here's what he sent back:

"And therefore as a stranger give it welcome.
There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy."
edit: ah fuck now I have an image of Hamlet: Elbow Squid Edition

They need to spend heaps of time in the water though, otherwise their joints get all fucked or something.

Had this animal book when I was little, and this exact picture was in it, and I had to skip past that page every single time. Creeped me out so much. Still does.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axolotl
Do kittens and babies also creep you out?

Because axolotl's are adorable and I am just wondering if you are sometimes crippled with fear around kittens and babies
seriously. I just want to hug it.
Gosh they are way cute! Turns out you can have them as pets, and are known as Wooper Roopers in Japan. How awesome is that?
I used to be quite into lizards and amphibians as a kid and I found these things fucking fascinating; they're sort of trapped between their larval and adult stages but apparently if you introduce iodine into their environment they'll be 'forcefully evolved' into a little salamander. Then it will die. But still, rad.

So, still the only one with crippling fear of the axolotl?

Right.

It might be worth mentioning that I'm also terrified of moths.

having difficulty reading through King pretty much identifies your problem right there
you have the attention span of a gnat

I mean, you had a hard time reading Stephen Fucking King
he's pretty much the go to author for all the people out there that don't have the patience for good writing
Dru i started reading King when i was seven. Even at that age i understood what was written, i just didn't like the story that was being told. But i kept with it and eventually it clicked.

I tried the same with Dune and just couldn't do it.

Well some moths can get pretty big i guess... and the semi-random flying patterns might jolt someone a bit, i dunno.

still, how can you not love the axolotl?

The moth thing's pretty much a childhood phobia. There was an incident involving a moth infestation of my bedroom that scarred me.

The axolotl... I dunno. It's just really creepy. I think it's mostly the gills and that it looks like a real version of the Sea Monkey package art. It doesn't look like something that should exist.
