The second 3D Prince of Persia, where the serious yet charming atmosphere was chucked out for generic market research darkness.

Seemed appropriate for this game, which is going for the generic "those gamer kids like blood n' boobies, right?"

I knew it was a good idea to stay away from those games.

EDIT nvm can't find the image that made me think of that.

No no, Sands of Time is a masterpiece, Two Thrones is good (although it frustrated me out of playing it half way through), and the latest Prince of Persia is just beautiful.

Yeah, Sands of Time is easily the best action-adventure game of the previous generation. Just a really great game.

Her shirt consists of 3 leather straps and 2 pieces of clothes with sleeves.....

Well atleast she's wearing pants. Unlike this lady whose skirt consists of 2 pieces of clothe and a belt.

Such a well imbued sense of grace that only a princess can display.

That's fairly outlandish, but at least it seems vaguely functional. Damnation Chick couldn't take three steps without a boob falling out her vest-thing.

Functional? The moment she bends her waist one of the 2 pieces of clothe is going to fall right out.

Thanks for disappointing me, Internet

And I was willing to overlook the stupid costume design as well.

Well hot damn, this just shot straight on my radar.

How come I'm only just hearing of this?

Edit- Actually, reading over this thread made me sad.

Curse you, harsh truths!

This looks pretty terrible and not the least bit steam punk

It's a good thing we have the soulless corporate might of E.A to protect Brutal Legend from Activision..... I'm so confused.

Now i know how the Japanese people in monster movies feel when Godzilla stops smashing their city in order to kill another giant city destroying monster.

Ivy.
Yes I already posted her as an example of terrible costume design that no one gives a damn about thank you

ANYWAY let's get away from this topic because otherwise we'll all get mad at each other for no reason

Did I just see someone jump and get stuck on the geometry in that demo? I swear to God I did, just after she used the "spirit vision" (which is super lame)

edit: yes I did indeed
Look, I'm not saying you're wrong or anything, but do you really not remember the huge Soul Calibur 4 kerfluffle that Ivy's new...er...attributes caused?

So, anyone else think Deadlands looks so much better than this, but with the same basic idea (minus faux steam punk)?

Spoiler:
When all you can say about the costumes is "It's not as bad as Final Fantasy" you're not saying a hell of a lot.

Steampunk could be really fun for a game if it was done well, but I guess that goes for any genre.

Ivy's costume was always terrible

The latest iteration just took it a little bit further

Ok wait. I think I've got it.

This is PoP mixed with Red Dead Revolver.

I'll be back in a few months to see how this develops. I'm not going to shelve all hope quite yet, just most of it and for a good long while.
