you do have to admit that it is entertaining. I generally obey when someone insists on not getting ubered, but there is the occasional pre gate-opening uber while berating the heavy for not advancing

Overhealing spies while the health flowers were still messed up and playing innocent was pretty good, too

Full disclosure: Once I ubered an engineer during setup and told him it would help him upgrade faster.

I watched a certain un named medic here actively chase down friendly spies from across the map to overheal them.

It was fun to see how quickly the spy would die.

Oh theres more to the story. Like me spending the entire match trying to help iowa(enemy spy) stab Flippy. And Cryo spending the entire match trying to save Flippy. And our team yelling at us for not getting ubers, and wasting ubers, but never figuring out what was going on in the otherwise normal match.

And the best part was when Snappy went under the point to ask me for my uber, and I'm healing a disguised iowa. And she just looks back and forth at each of us for like 10 seconds and says 'oh fine, I see how it is', and walks away.

So, if a Sniper and a Scout are about fifteen paces apart, and the Sniper draws his machete and charges and the Scout tries to take him with the Scattergun, the Sniper should pretty much never get the kill, right? You'd have to be the worst Scout alive to bite in that situation, wouldn't you?
Go ahead and try it. See what happens.

Hahaha, you know moments like this make medic being fun. We can only usefully uber you guys for so long before we want to do something crazy.

BTW offensive classes, if you don't kill more than 2 guys with my uber, I hate you. I will make fun of you, until your E-peen is no more.

Ever since they added achievements the shoddy tracking has driven me up the wall. I fullfilled the requirements for multiple achievements tonight and didn't get a point towards their progress bars more often than not. As a pyro I set a guy on fire and then shot him in the face with the shotgun to finish him off then imediately looked to the upper left hand corner where I was having the achievement progress tracked and I didn't get anything towards it. The same thing happened when I set a guy on fire and then watched him jump into the water. I screamed, "COME ON!" Though what pisses me off even more is when achievement progress gets reset. For example it took me till just last week to get the Head of the Class one because it kept getting reset over and over and over again, I had to go through all the classes in one long play session to unlock it for fear of it just resetting again when I turned off the game. Same with the headshot one, I'd get to 12 or 13 and then I'd play the game again and it would reset to 2 or 3. Fuck I've played every map in the game at least twice and I STILL haven't gotten the World Traveler achievement.

Has anybody else been plagued with this as well?

So here's the thing about ubers.

You know that list, the one from which you choose which class you play as?

You see how it's divided into sections, and how heavy is on the "defensive" list?

STOP UBERING THE FAT BASTARD OFFENSIVELY AND GIVE IT TO SOMEONE WHO CAN MOVE

correct thread

You know, those are just guidelines. Über Heavies and sometimes regular Heavies can be excellent offense. A good Engineer or Demoman can be offense too and Soldier and Pyro makes great defense. Actually, I'd say that Pyro is better at defense than offense.

Scout, listed as Offensive, terrible Uber target
Demoman listed as Defense, Situational Uber target.
Soldier listed as Offensive, Situational Uber target.

Uber Heavies are also situational, ubering the fat fuck straight out of say DB 2-1, bad idea, ubering him as you round the corner to DB 2-2 good idea, (provided ofc, there is 1 or less sentries)

e: Fuck you Peewi, my post is superior!

So being a soldier became much more fun when I fixed my interp settings. I really am terrible at multiplayer FPS's, though. I'm just less bad than most.

Ubered pyros are the most murderous class if they're not facing SGs or stickies or air blasts. Heavies are great for ambush-ubering onto points. Demomen are... well, death machines to structures. Soldiers aren't always so hot because when they could be because once they've expended their rockets they're no longer at their best.

Ubered soldiers are okay if you multi-uber. Soldiers, however, make fantastic kritz targets.

Edit: Critzing a sniper is great if hes really proficient with the smg and kukri.

I think it's best to use Kritzkrieg on a soldier when he does get ubered. Building destruction ubers should be for demomen/heavies.

I play soldier a lot, and I'll be the first one to admit that when I have a medic offer to uber me, I tell him to look for a better candidate first.

I can't think of how that could be any use, unless the sniper is really crappy and can only make body shots. In which case, krubering a sniper and having them bodyshot a bunch of people would be useful, but compared to other classes probably a waste?

The sniper rifle isn't even affected by the Kritzkrieg. But if it was, it would help a helluva lot.
