I really hope they don't play the entirety of Fortress like some people are suggesting. Kezia would be so much better live.
Edit: Alright, tried to lock the other one, but just asked for it to be deleted. Sweet deal.
dream a little dream or you could live a little dream
sleep forever if you wish to be a dreamer
EDIT: Stumbled upon Odium, too. They're not too bad in that whole "Roadrunner-esque stuff I'd rather be listening to than actual Roadrunner stuff" sense. Clean vocals, growly bits, lots of double bass, melodic guitars, you know the formula. I'm still listening, though.
Now the time of year where I struggle to remember everything I enjoyed
Instead I will go with this:
01. Neire Peste
02. La Mesniee Mordrissoire
03. Ballade Cuntre Les Anemis de la France - De Francois Villon
04. Concerto Pour Cloportes
05. La France Bouge - par K.P.N. (Chant de l'Action Française)
06. A la Mortaille!
07. Vespre
08. Rance Black Metal de France
09. Requiem pour Nioka (à un Berger-Allemand)
10. Soleils Couchants - de Verlaine

I used to love it when I said things like that. Where has all my cruelty gone?

Fixed!
Also, I don't really know what the op picture is - is that a reference to Vader's "feed lions to the xians"?

Yeah, I just think there is no trendy category anymore, just Dethklok. People that jump on that bandwagon suddenly think they know something about metal from watching a cartoon show:
It's obviously pretty hilarious.
Also, the painting in the OP is The Christian Martyrs' Last Prayer by Jean-Léon Gérôme (1883).
It may be a little too soon for me to do my list, there are still a few weeks left and I've got a few dozen in the queue to review, including at least 2-3 that are excellent.

I've set my hatred of the name aside to listen to the new Arckanum now. Good so far (only three tracks in) but I dunno if it'll make my year's-end list.
ughh I have so much catching up to do

I like how a dude on the AS forums managed to misspell Dethklok. I mean, there's pretending to know about metal and then there's pretending to know about that damn cartoon.
Wow I came to the exact same conclusion a few days ago.
Well, minus those lists I posted.
But I'm working on having a real # of 1000 for this year.

That's a link to the Arckanum lyrics, written out clearly at least. You'd need to translate them, but if lyrics being in English were a criteria for me I wouldn't be able to listen to or enjoy half the music I own.
Synopsis from his site:
Njørðr asked Þjazi, the wrathful rime-giant, on the behalf of all the gods for amends; peace between them. But Þjazi answered: ‘No amends – no peace!’ Next, darkness and mist hung over the horizon behind Þjazi and his brothers; and out of the darkness came the ferocious dog-headed giant-tribe of Beli, Þjazi’s allies. The gods now understood that war and darkness were upon them

Giddy as a school boy.
That's awesome.
I'll be "Evil Spirit Binder".

Thanks.

I didn't get hooked on Merkur until I'd heard the last half of the album. While I like the whole thing, I think the second half of the album completely nails the execution and makes me enjoy the whole thing even more on subsequent listens.
I'm going to import the record from Germany, but I'm trying to figure out whether it would be cheaper to have it shipped to a friend in Germany and have him ship it here or have it shipped from the label directly to the US.
"Immolation aren't even good. There pretty much a ripoff of Deicide and Amon Amorth." Thank you, Last.fm.

Yes. Don't wear nice clothes.
In fact, find something you never expect to wear every again. If you have ever received clothes as a gift from a relative and they have languished in your closet for years, now is the time to wear them.

CALGARY SUCKS.
Um.... thank you? o_O
And I'll take the clothes advice, thank you to anyone who suggested that. Shitty sweater ahoy!
I don't know if they're still doing the same thing, but the only time I saw GWAR you could buy a shirt that would do awesome shit when it reacted with the blood and semen they spray in to the crowd.
It's sad because someone actually believes this.
