[Let's Play] Jaws Unleashed (s07: THANK GOD 02/21)

Amity Island is growing, making corporate connections with prestigious companies like Environplus to improve the Island's economy. Unfortunately the increased population around the Island and recent industrial activity has also attracted one of Earth's most fearsome creatures: a great white shark. When the Environplus CEO's son falls prey to the shark's deadly attacks, the CEO hires renowned shark hunter Cruz Ruddock to track and kill it. Meanwhile, Marine Biologist Michael Brody tries to capture the shark for research. Can Ruddock and Brody stop the shark from causing havoc and killing more people before the 4th of July celebration?

Enough of that info; I'm bad at OPs but as you can tell from the wiki article that this story is intense and you may be paying for all of your seat but you're gonna need only the edge. People have been bugging me to do a new LP, so.. here I am! I couldn't decide on a game so I picked one at random.

    This game lead to the best archived thread in G&T history.

    Well, either that or the bear one.


    Oh, and the Ecco: Defender of the Future devs made this. I'm not sure whether that's cause for joy or sadness.

    Wow, it looks just like Ecco, gameplay wise.

    I'm actually surprised that you didn't realise that the lines were talking about the movie. :lol:

    Then, again, I just finished studying Jaws, so...

    Anyway, can't wait for more shark shenanigans.

    I like how "continue" is mapped to "smash furiously to swim" so that you skip the tutorial screens by accident, and can't see them again.

    Also, it is absurd that there is something called Shark Vision. I love it.

    I lost it when the hint popped up to "Press triangle to use Shark Vision." :lol:

    Good choice for a LP.

    Also, "Jaws isn't very powerful, he's just good at making a lot of blood." = Win = Sig'd

    Confirmed Xbox 360 fan who hates what MS is planning for XBone and will jump ship. Millions more are less devoted than I am. Reflect on this well, Microsoft.

    Yessss! Also, Shark Vision is a very useful tool for sharks. It makes things green and the outside of your vision gets wiggly.. I guess.

    I'm not saying that you need to see Jaws to understand the game. It's just that there are certain things that are downright shocking when you hear that there's someone who hasn't seen/read/whatever it. I feel old.

    It's not like Jaws is exactly masterpiece cinema.

    There's this shark. It likes to eat people. Some people go to kill the shark. They do or don't succeed.

    I don't think anyone does, but it is a key piece of pop culture history.

    It was novel for its time, and was better executed than most horror/monster movies of today. The aforementioned tidbit about Bruce the robot shark breaking down, so Spielberg had to use good music and directing to increase the tension. It was originally going to be all about "ARRGGH SHARK!" and stuff jumping out at you.

    There's a reason why that music is so well known.
