No it still fucking sucks. You're drinking beer and listening to music with friends and then you get out of the golf cart and it's hot and muggy because every fucking golf course has to be fucking hot and muggy goddamn always and then you get up to hit the ball and absolutely nothing goes right because you're not a fucking golf machine and then you get to enjoy more muggy hot bullshit.

It's a massive investment to get to the point where you can actually enjoy it, which is yet another reason only rich people actually like doing it. Plus they have all sorts of fancy bullshit to make it more enjoyable and easier to play.

Fun and Tru fax: My dad buys random shit on ebay, but his favorite thing to buy is gift certificates for random shit. One time he bought a gift certificate to some richy rich golf course on the NE-IA border, the gc was worth like $500 and he spent $2 on ebay to buy it. So he and I decided to meet up there, he used the gc to pay for a round of golf (that $500 paid for one round for 2 people). We were both pretty into it at the time so we played fast and were just barely over par for the whole course.

I have been to many golf courses in my youth. I have never seen so many fucking motorized golf bags, umbrellas, concessions, etc. in my life. I likely never will. We had a guy who was golfing alone get forced to join us and he had a million questions about who we were and just how the fuck we got on this course. I was wearing a collared shirt, but it was a cheap thing I bought at good will, my dad never ever dressed well in his entire life, and I could just tell he knew, he knew we didn't belong.

At the end of the round I was very sure to tell him it was the best $2 round of golf I'd ever had in my life. I like to imagine there was a mix of confusion and revulsion for him.

CM Punk shouldn’t have a fuckin job to begin with after what he did. That he is now successfully gaslighting the fans into making the Bucks the bad guys for not wanting to work with him is just sad now.

i loved that Baldurs Gate did that! You fight a demon knight as a dungeon boss in the bg1 DLC, and then iirc you kill a bunch of them at once in the underdark of bg2 as a random encounter
