The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
I installed the Win7RC awhile back, and have enjoyed it thoroughly. Thoroughly enough, in fact, that I have no need for my Windows XP install anymore. The machine is currently dual booting XP/Win7 but I'd like to simply remove XP from the equation and recover that hard disk space.
I could simply format the partition, but I imagine the bootloader wouldn't like that one bit. How do I convince the bootloader to ignore XP and jump straight to Win7?
Anyone notice how some things (mattresses and the copy machines in Highrise) are totally impenetrable? A steel wall, yeah that makes sense, but bullets should obliterate copy machines.
I don't know about you, but I always buy a bullet proof printer. Its a lot more expensive, but I think the advantages are apparent.
Start -> Right click Computer and chose manage -> advanced system settings -> "startup and recovery" settings -> Make sure Win7 is set to default then remove the checkbox next to "time to list".
This will cause it to automatically boot to Win7 and skip that opening boot menu.

Awesome, thanks.
I should be able to format the XP partiton safely now, correct?

You can keep it as a separate partition or there are tools out there that will let you expand the Win7 partition to fill the drive. Use at your own risk and backup your data before using them.
The machine I'm on atm isn't dual boot but if I recall correctly you can remove it in msconfig if it still shows up on the OS list after nuking the partition.
