Has anyone hacked apart Conker's Bad Fur Day to see if there are any residuals of Conker's Quest or whatever family-friendly platformer existed before Conker went to hell?

Anyone remember Tombi (Sometimes Tomba) for the PS1? It was a cartoony platform/RPG hybrid where you travelled around throwing pigs in magic bags or something. Every time you beat one of the pig bosses, and area was "cured" and you got a nice little animation showing said area being clensed of whatever weird plague was harming it. I found an animation not used in the game of an area I'd never seen being cured, and subsequently spent 2 years looking for it. It wasn't until I was around 15 that I found out that, shit, yeah, stuff gets cut from games. Sucks to be you buddy.
Because I didn't want Tomba! to show up on PSN enough. Thanks, jerk.

Did they ever fix the problem of the game not working on the PS2?
Try to imagine yourself in the Cretaceous Period. You get your first look at this "giant turkey" as you enter a clearing. He moves like a bird, lightly, bobbing his head. And you keep still because you think that maybe his visual acuity is based on movement like T-Rex - he'll lose you if you don't move. But no, not this Colossus. You stare at him, and he just stares right back. And that's when the attack comes. Not from the front, but from the side, from the other two Colossi you didn't even know were there. Because this Colossus is a pack hunter, you see, he uses coordinated attack patterns and he is out in force today. And he slashes at you with this... a six-foot retractable claw, like a razor, on the the middle toe. He doesn't bother to bite your jugular like a lion, say... no no. He slashes at you here... or here... or maybe across the belly, spilling your intestines. The point is... you are alive when they start to eat you. So you know... try to show a little respect.
In regards to other cut content, wasn't their evidence of a Toad Suit item for Mario 3 to go along with the Hammer Bros. Suit and Frog suit and such? No idea what it would have done.
The game coding reveals an item-sized Toad icon among some of the game's suits; this is interpreted by several as a sort of "Toad Suit", although it makes no changes to gameplay when granted to Mario. - This has been recently proven to actually be a Hammer Suit with palette errors, and appears clearly in a "?" block in 7-8, giving Mario the Hammer Suit. [1] Designers also considered a power-up to turn Mario into a Centaur (half-man, half-horse), although this was rejected (Tilden 1990, 21).
Oh yeah...in a preview video on Vampire: Bloodlines, the black-haired chick who owns the bar shows you her tits (blurred out in the vid) but all the nudity was cut from the final release, I guess. You visit a strip club where no one gets nekkid? Preposterous!

Haha, I played the shit out of it in my early teen years. My sister recently came into the possession of an ex-rental copy, but I haven't touched it yet for fear of getting sucked right back in.

I always thought Tomba looked kind of dumb. But in general I have little respect for the myriad of caveman/jungle game heroes - Adventure Island Guy, Bonk, Chuck Rock, Tac and his power of Juju...

I have the PC version.
There's a PC version? Wikipedia only lists it as being on Playstation.
In Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne there are some sound files available in the editor that seems like they should be used at the end of the game, but doesn't actually play in the game.
In the end Arthas and Illidan have a fight. Arthas wins and it looks like Illidan dies, but the unused sound files explain that he is just heavily wounded and Arthas let's him return to Outland.

I'm pretty sure I saw a recreation of that fight in Northrend in WOW.

I would love to see this game on PSN. Especialy with the way the cinematics were handled in these games, the slightest scratch and the whole thing becomes unplayable. I can honestly say that I have never once found a used copy of Tomba 1 or 2 that worked due to this.

IIRC, it was going to be an actual full-fledged cinematic, but they had to cut that down to the in-engine thing for some reason. I'd say that reason is 'time', but this is blizzard we're talking about.
I remember watching a preview video for Mass Effect, and one of the things mentioned was the dialog system. One of the coolest parts about it was that it was supposed to be more dynamic than what was in the final game, and the example shown was a video of Shepard cutting off (I think) Garrus in mid sentence, grabbing him by the collar and telling him that he's in charge and if he didn't like it he could basically fuck off. I thought that was damn cool and was disappointed when it didn't make it into the final game.

Two interesting thing in DK64,
The first is a test room to test slope and jumping that you can enter if you press A&B on the minigame select screen you can unlock for finding all the blueprints.
The second is that there is a data flag labeled Ice Key (of banjo kazooie fame) that is set to zero on every new cartridge but the second the game starts it is immediately set to one. It is believed that the limited amount of code for it in game (just the text) means it was probably there just to test receiving Stop and Swap data from Banjo-Kazooie.
Playable Dixie Kong, Plusle and Minun, and Tetra (Toon Zelda) in Brawl
I don't really care about the last three but it is a damn shame they cut Dixie at the last minute.
Fweh?!
There's some data left in the game suggesting that they would've been playable characters.
Yup, when people looked at the game's code, they found data for some partially programmed characters. Dr. Mario, Roy, and Mewtwo were there, but there's also a Toon Zelda, Toon Sheik, and Dixie. The last character was labeled "PRA&MAI," leading a lot of people to think that it was Plusle and Minum (I think the Japanese name for Plusle starts with "Pra"?), and that they possibly would have fought as a duo like the Ice Climbers.

RISE FROM YOUR GWAVE!
So I am raising this thread from the dead to say that they have finally confirmed it, Michael Jackson actually did compose all the music for Sonic 3.
Composer Brad Buxer confirmed it in an interview with a magazine called Black & White.
“I've never played the game so I do not know what tracks on which Michael and I have worked the developers have kept, but we did compose music for the game,” Buxer stated.
“Michael called me at the time for help on this project, and that's what I did. And if he is not credited for composing the music, it's because he was not happy with the result sound coming out of the console.
“At the time, game consoles did not allow an optimal sound reproduction, and Michael found it frustrating. He did not want to be associated with a product that devalued his music.”
It's also confirmed that the chords in Stranger in Moscow were originally reused from the Sonic 3 soundtrack as well.
So, um, Wow. I mean, many people kind of already knew, but this official confirmation is nice. It sucks that MJ wasn't happy with it, because I think Sonic 3's soundtrack is one of the best in the series. I wonder what the original tracks sound like, because they're apparently recorded on a cd somewhere in Sega's or someone's vault.
The quality of the chip doesn't matter, if I like the sound then that's all that matters. I liked Sonic's music and I liked the Shining series' music. SNES music all sounded too midi for me, not gamey enough.
But enough about that, this is the long lost cut/hidden content thread! It has itself become cut/hidden!
I guess this isn't too exciting as other posts but Guitar Hero (the first one) on the PS2 had a couple of hidden tracks complete with note charts. These can't be accessed without a GameShark/Action Replay device. The tracks are "Graveyard Shift" by an unknown band and "Trippolette" by Andrew Buch (some dude who had worked with the Harmonix team). I'm sure you could find videos of them on YouTube if you were really interested.
EDIT: Oh yeah, "Trippolette" is pretty fucking hard due to the odd HOPO system.
The UT2004 version of Red Orchestra had a few weapons only partially implemented. For example, the Soviets had a second pistol (to compete with the three the Germans had--the Luger, the Walther, and the Mauser C'96), the Nagant Revolver. Unfortunately, if I remember correctly, it was only available with one class on one map (and a custom map at that), and used the Tokarev's world model (the difference was the damage done, the first person model, and the first person animations).
Yeah, not as cool as anything else mentioned in this thread. But it was the only thing I could think of that wouldn't have already been mentioned.
