EVS is collaborating with the guy that wrote The Slingers?
That's kind of awesome. Hopefully he can give both those writers a little popularity boost.
I just picked up the first issue of Harris' new creator owned series, Ghost Projekt - it's really good. It has a nice mix of his horror books and the stuff he did in Slingers and Bishop, plus some art by Steve Rolston, who also delivers a fresh looking book. I can definitely see him blowing up into a star, especially with an EVS team-up in the future.

I may have to check that out, as I'm also a big fan of Rolston.
Hopefully he'll get the books out on schedule instead of wasting time on the internet
I doubt it. He's stated in the past, and I'm paraphrasing here, that he deliberately tries to put out very little work, in order to remain in demand. Because according to him, artists that meet deadlines and deliver consistent work end up being taken for granted.
And I wish I could disagree with him on that, but I really can't.

Well, he kind of sounds like a silly goose who obnoxiously rides a harley davidson, because his art isn't that great and he just holds up stuff for other people (everyone else in the production line) to make a living.
Oh, it's definitely bullshit that he does it, but DC continues to reward him with high-profile assignments, while reliable, more talented artists are put on low-profile books.
I thought this issue was pretty poor. The dialogue wasn't so much bad as it was just completely disconnected from any other dialogue.
The hilarity of the issue is an accidental meta-commentary on this entire JLA series as this brand new JLA that was just formed in issue #41..... disbands. Green Lantern, Mon-El, Atom, Guardian, Black Canary, Cyborg, Starfire, and Green Arrow all quit in various ways. This leaves the JLA as Donna Troy, Batman, Congorilla, Starman, and Dr. Light and we know Supergirl and Jade are joining soon.
I think I can safely drop this now with no active Green Lantern stuff (although I may see it through the JLA/JSA crossover, haven't decided yet.)

Rans I said the same thing in the bitching thread hi5.
I object to Starman and Congorilla bogarting the Blue and Gold buddy pair identity.
Honestly, I'm just going to avoid JLA until the big seven come back, as I think that's the only thing that will give even the slightest shred of permanence or stability to the roster.

Munch, a blue alien and a big talking gorilla are the next big things, you can't object to that kind of change.
I kind of feel bad for Bagley right now, because he deserves to be on JLA, it suits him perfectly, it's just that he's on it right now where it feels like those last issues of Justice League where WW was the only big name right before Morrison relaunched the book.

Bagley's art is bad and I can't wait until he's off JLA.
The new lineup, he revealed, will be Dick Grayson as Batman, Supergirl, Donna Troy, Jade, Mikaal Tomas as Starman, Congorilla and Jessie Quick. The membership will remain the same for at least the next two years worth of stories.
While I can appreciate the idea of doing a pseudo-Big Seven League, with stand-ins for Flash, Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, and Green Lantern, there's no way this League lasts two years. On top of that, the team has no real star power (not counting Starman hyuk hyuk)), and both Jade and Quick seem like they belong with JSA.
Maybe she'll wear one costume in JSA All-Stars, and another in JLA.
Really, if Robinson was assembling a faux-JLA team, I'd like to see Wally West, Kyle Rayner, and Steel on it before Supergirl, Jesse Quick, or Jade. It doesn't seem like anyone has any plans for Wally currently, Tomasi's run on GLC is soon ending, and would make a good excuse for Rayner to rejoin the League, and Steel hasn't done anything since Infinity Inc.
It seems like DC's just waiting to relaunch JLA with the classic lineup, and I'm cool with that. But if that's the case, I'd rather the current book do something besides try to emulate that lineup, but without the benefit of the iconic characters. Why not do an update on the JLI concept? I'd read a book about Knight, Squire, Olympian, and an assortment of international heroes.
Yeah, I'd rather see the JLA concept re-imagined than stocked with characters who loosely fit the roles of the Big 7, like Donna Troy. That's just setting yourself up to fall short.
I've long wanted to see a League of nothing but nineties replacement heroes. I don't know what hoops you'd have to jump through to get Superman Red, Batzrael, Artemis, Connor Hawke, Kyle Rayner, John Fox, Aquaman the Barbarian, and Martian Manhunter on a team, but it would be worth it.

Besides, if they decided to stop fucking around with Teen Titans, that'd be 2 books with psuedo-big 7 characteristics. And the Teen Titans would actually be the better heroes, for the most part.

it's like they haven't realized that JLA has sucked the entire time Martian Manhunter hasn't been on the team

So was Robinson's original roster always supposed to disband so quickly? Or is this editorial interference?
Because that is an awful way to start your run when the previous one was characterized by an unstable lineup.
sounds like it was a bit of both. Robinson realized he didn't feel comfortable writing a big team and editorial was taking many characters (Mon-el, starfire, hal, others) away.
The writer revealed more behind the scenes information about "Cry For Justice," explaining that originally, DC wanted to get rid of most of their fictional cities (not Metropolis or Gotham obviously). He disagreed with the idea and didn’t do it, feeling the fictional cities of the DC Universe should be embraced; they make the fictional world more unique.
It's like DC hates everything about their universe that I love. I like that there are all these fictional cities like Fawcett, Hub, or Vanity. Not just because they give each hero their own space to operate in, but because they can reflect the fictional universe, rather than our own reality, and still be viable locations. Marvel's never going to make grand, sweeping changes to New York, because it would stop being "real," nevermind all the guys in tights flying around.
Robinson slyly revealed that there is one character from "Cry For Justice" that everyone assumes is dead, but is actually alive. Mikaal and Congorilla discover this and go off in search of the person. "It is not Lian!" the writer shared.
The only people that died were Guardians of the Globe like Tasmanian Devil, Gloss, Freedom Beast, and Sandstorm, some supporting characters, and villains Endless Winter (who was wearing Icemaiden's skin, interestingly enough), and Prometheus.
Of all those, I think only Tasmanian Devil or Freedom Beast would be up for resurrection, and Robinson specifically states he'll be revisiting Africa, as well as Freedom Beast's death, in JLA. So it's probably Freedom Beast.

Hahaha I wonder how they would have made this work.
"Well that's it for Central City, Wally. I guess we'll have to move to Detroit. What about you, Captain Marvel?"
"I guess I'll set up shop in Omaha?"

I quit reading Cry for Justice after the issue where Roy's arm disappeared and I couldn't tell what the fuck was going on because the layout and scripting was so awful (I think Captain Marvel was killing mans or something), but Freedom Beast is the only one on that list that I'd want to see resurrected.
But I remember in the years where Robinson was talking about Cry For Justice before it came out, he talked about how it was going to redeem the Prometheus character and make him a bigger player in the DC Universe. And having the character die doesn't really accomplish that, so yeah... it'll be Prometheus, unfortunately. I think there was a cool character in Prometheus when he first appeared, but I don't think he can be saved after all the crap that came after.
I was going to call it that but I figured what's the point in telling a joke that Furu would tell

Depending on what they do with Guy in his new book I would like to see him on the JLA again, because this time instead of just wanting to be the top dog, he actually has the leadership skills now to make it work, and Dick would gladly let Guy help him out being the leader and shock Guy and Dick would actually get along.

Yeah, after Keith posted I remembered that Prometheus' body disappeared.
And where does Prometheus live?
The Ghost Zone.
