You just can't strum on any of the hammer-on notes, and you have to hit every one of them. You have to be pretty disciplined, it's easy to accidentally strum on some of those notes.
I'm working on also getting Dig A Pony, but that one long run of HOPOs after the solo and the ending trill will probably screw me up for a while.
After doing Dear Prudence, Octopus was cake.
Dig A Pony? I'm not so keen on that one yet.
Dear Prudence pisses me off cause it's a relatively easy but my hand always cramps up at the 1.30 min mark. Frustrating.
i just got a copy of the please please me remaster
man, i'm gonna have to eventually put aside money for the mono remasters, because this is really hard to listen to with headphones. who the hell ever thought it was a good idea to pan drums far left?

A stereo mix was made at the same time as the mono mix, with one track on the left channel and the other on the right, as well as an added layer of reverb to better blend the two tracks together. This was common practice for playback on stereo consoles, but has a dramatic effect when listening with headphones.
It was 'common' back then because they didn't really have any better equipment when stereo entered the scene. In fact, the band themselves didn't care for it initially. They didn't understand why anybody would want two whole speakers devoted to separate channels...

I like the story Paul tells of trying to tell people at a party about a neat drum fill coming up - then having to restart the song and walk to other side of the room because they were at the wrong speaker.

I was listening to Pandora today and have come to the conclusion that the absence of Collective Soul -- Heavy is a pretty glaring omission on the part of Harmonix.
That song in a pack with [Bush - Everything Zen] and [Third Eye Blind - Narcolepsy]. It'd be like high school all over again.
Well, we are still, supposedly, getting a six-pack of Third Eye Blind someday. Which I will buy twice.

Can we get the chemicals in. 'Cause anything's better than this.

Easily my favorite clip in B:RB. George Harrison looks so badass and they're just sitting in Abby Road talking about how stereo blew them away and they didnt know what to do with it.

i don't think it was exactly george martin that came up with the idea in the first place, just a horrible common practice of the time.
must start saving for mono box set.
Have fun with the later stuff. Instead of doing what I assume is what you want, everything thrown down at once, they start fading things in and out in sequence. Something like Tomorrow Never Knows is absolutely ruined in Mono.

They have some mono versions up on Youtube and I guess I'll need another example - because Tomorrow Never Knows certainly doesn't sound "ruined" and neither do a few of the other later songs I checked out. They're slightly differently mixed but I don't know why somebody wouldn't expect that.
Also holy shit 240 bucks for the box set! Fuuuuck. I was thinking about it for awhile but I just hadn't looked at the price. I knew it was missing three albums so the last thing I figured was that it was pricier than the stereo set.

Well, that's odd. In Europe, the PS3 doesn't get Abbey Road until the 29th. Considering HMX's stance of future Beatles DLC being dependant on sales of announced stuff, and the only one week delay, it can't be a money hat situation, surely?

That clip is from The Beatles: Anthology, so if you enjoyed it and dig interviews and such you should really pick it up.
Yeah, I wish this had gone up a week ago. I just ordered Rock Band through Fry's Electronics for 71 shipped as a christmas present for my brother in law(And plan on buying Lego Rock Band for my niece). For 8 bucks more I could have gotten a RB2 disc as well, damn.
So...is it 2 PM yet? I'm getting antsy to get my Freddie Mercury on...
edit: Also, been listening to So Much For The After Glow again and now I totally agree with josh, it would be pretty damn fun. I just couldn't sing I will Buy You a New Life without dying just a little inside each time.

The whole CD of "So Much for the Afterglow" would be pretty awesome.
At least Band Hero is getting "Santa Monica" which is pretty stinking awesome.
Hopefully one of the band games will do more Everclear.
MacArthur Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again
Oh no!
I know how you feel, you get crazy inside
They say it runs in the family
I know just how you feel when you get crazy inside
Your mom she said that you are just like me
I can see it in your eyes
I can see your shaky hands
Yes I think you think I'm stupid
You don't think I understand
Yes I see you and I see myself when I was a younger man
When you were a child
You were happy and free
You were my reason to live
I would die when you smiled at me
I can still see you
I remember you painting
Sunflowers in your room
 One of these things is not like the others...

I don't care if I cry a little each time, I want Everclear on Rock Band!. I'm looking at you Father of Mine!
Don't think so. She's fluent in both languages, nothing should be lost. It's just words being put there for the sake of rhyming and being symmetrical to that of the Spanish version.

Although she's fluent in both languages, she was still learning English when she wrote that album. Why do I know this?
