I originally attacked them, but I was playing on hard so after the 2nd try I gave up, then realised there was an achievement, your fingers will hurt if you're doing it on hard

An easy playthrough took me between 3 and 4 hours, once you know where to go of course

    So I just got 1000 Gamerscore smugriders.gif

The trick to the Combat Challenges: once you have a 30x Multiplier and there's maybe 3-5 guys left, knock them down, and ground pound them, 30 x 200 = 6,000, 5 x 6,000 = 30,000. And just keep trying at it until you manage to beat them all, you should get the "use every combat ability in one perfect combo" achievement along the way if you're doing it right.

My only complaint is that the slow motion in the middle of your moves sometimes only slows batman down, and the henchmen come in and sucker punch me, least that's what it feels like, but really, i hit X, then the blue lightning flashes above their head and they hit me instantly, I was hitting start>down>A>up>A quicker than I was blinking.

Edit: Oh and Predator challenges, listening to this has been scientifically proven to make you three times as sneaky.

Just completed the game (On Normal) and completed all the stealth challenges. The combat ones are doing my head in though, I think I may give up on them.

The main game itself was amazing and I even broke up the party.

How do you defeat the guys with the tasers? It seems that even if I stun them first I still get hurt.

Tap A to jump over them, their back will be turned to you for a short while and their electric crap can't hurt you.

    Jump over, hit.

    e:beated

The alternative is to batclaw them. They'll drop it out of their hands I believe.

Most of the time I would end up doing the unblockable takedown on them, just out of sheer I can't be bothered flipping around to knock this guy down

Using the batclaw doesn't increase your combo or give you any points, but that's what gives you a variation bonus. The only way I can really prove it is by saying 'test it yourself', although I could link this GameFAQs thing that lists all the moves you need for variation, and it says "batclaw - double tap RT", with no mention of batclaw strikes until it discusses scoring.

I just checked. Batclaw does not add to combo nor give points, but it does give variation bonus.

Though to be fair, using the batclaw pulls them towards you, so follow up with a hit and you'll always gain points and it won't break your combo due to how quickly you can do it.

It's also handy when you're on your last few mooks, as you can Batclaw all of them at once, jump over one of them to keep the combo going long enough, then pull off two/three ground takedowns in succession (you can easily get two, and if the third guy gets up, just batclaw/jump again). If you've got a large combo going, this can be the best way to finish up.

Seriously, fffuuuccckkk Shock and Awe Extreme. I never finish in time! Rumble in the Jungle Extreme shouldn't be too bad but I kept losing my combo in the final round trying to dodge the Titans.

The predator challenges are more difficult than I expected, especially without being able to use the gargoyles. Anyone have some tips for the Extreme versions? I'm having a hell of a time with the one where you have to knock down 3 guys with one wall or 3 walls too :?

Take your time the first few times and scout out the levels. THe gaurd's inital patterns are almost always the same. So watch their patterns, figure out where they walk and when. Find the time when 3 gaurds are below/near 3 walls (OR FLOORS) at the same time. And that should give you your opening gambit.

I ended up where I knew where two guards would be at a certain time and then used the sonic batarang to lure a third person to another floor/wall

Nah, it's straightforward. All you have to do is be nearly perfect. :P

Keep at it and it'll slowly get easier. I had a lot of trouble with it, but now it's doable. I don't think it'll ever be a breeze.

Well that video shows what you guys meant by "evade not counter" but it's still perfectly doable without jumping around like you were playing Counter-Strike, as long as you keep your combo up.

To beat Shock and Awe you have to keep your combo going. If you mess up and lose it on the final round you're pretty much guaranteed not to knock everyone out in time.

Also, instant takedown every chance you get. You won't get record-setting scores, but instant takedowns are the second biggest scoring move you can do, so it should be enough to get you through.

Just doing critical strikes and instant takedowns (on baton/knife guys first) I ended up with like 20k. I assume throwing in a quick 8 or 9 variation at the beginning of each round and then just doing criticals over and over would work.

If you get a 9 variation on each round, you'll get around 20000 (I'm not sure if that number's right because I haven't played recently). You only need 30000 for Shock and Awe, so criticals and instant takedowns should be more than enough.

Yeah at this point I can hit 30000 without much difficulty at all. It's just beating Round 4 under the time limit that's giving me trouble now. I'm sure I'll get it soon enough.

So am I the only one who did this? (party pooper spoilers)
Immediately after walking into the room I pulled out my explosive foam and took a couple steps in, sprayed some down. Walked roughly halfway into the room, sprayed again. Walked close to the end, sprayed it down. Then I pulled out my multi-batarang and smacked some of them. When they started to bum rush me, all three explosives were proximity triggered and I was able to perform a takedown on like 6 of them before anybody was up to fight.

Then, since I had easy special move x5 or whatever, I immediately performed an unblockable takedown on the nearest fool. Only 9 guys left.

Made the party pooper achievement really easy on Normal.
