Geometry looks rather flat and square, but I reckon it's due to being unfinished.
This, especially in that first and last screenshot
You need to put some kind of lip or edge on the building in the first shot, and the last shot needs the same thing or at least more detailed around the entrance by the bus it seems.
Had a pretty funny Glitch tonight on versus. Got to be tank, and took out all of the team apart from one. He made it to safe room, but it didn't finish because another was still bleeding out. So just starting throwing rocks at the door. But the match finished as one hit the door, and the game got frozen shaking. Was like a nuke going off for 30 seconds.
Perhaps this has been mentioned before, but the public games in L4Dead will shake your faith in humanity.
Like, at multiple times, I wondered if the man on the other side of the mic was human.
Ha, try reading the offical steam forums for L4D or L4D2. I go there sometimes when I've been having a good day to get some blind, seething hatred to take out on people.

70 percent (maybe even 80 or more) of people should not play this game. They dont' seem to understand why they lose so they give up before they even get the chance to learn how to be better.
Convince a friend to get the game as well. Then you'll be at least 2 human beings on your team and you can laugh at the asshattery around you. That's how me and my friends tackle the game nowadays. Before there used to be this awesome group playing called armadeaddon but alas, 'tis now gone.
Noooo...I'm not bitter
And honestly, the player base is bit more leveled out now. The truly horrible players have finally given up playing. You should have seen how the first 6 months were, I went to bed crying every night.
yeah, having at least one good team mate helps. basically i blew at this game and hated playing it until i found some people who know how to play. the only problem is, once you get good everyone quits on you..
for hunters, i love trying huge jumps. not wildly impossible ones, but ones you're gonna land. like, on dead air when the survivors come out onto the roof, you jump them from the top of the crane because you know they'll bottle up as they come through the window and you'll get in a 20+ damage pounce, and possibly bump others back. i have a few spots like this on all the campaigns.
also coordination. the infected only are really effective if you all strike together.
Most of the time when I try to give someone advice on something I get told something along the lines of "Fuck off I paid for this game let me play the way I want". They then proceed to try and solo the entire survivor team as a hunter.

I've got to say it does seem to happen more with L4D than with other games. Perhaps it's just because you need teamwork so much more here. You get a couple asshats and you won't stand a chance against the computer let alone human infected.

A couple of nights ago one of my highly regarded pubbie teammates decides to heal up in the middle of a horde with ~10 hp. As this is not his first example of bad judgement I tell him over the mic that "That's probably not the best place to do that, just wait a few sec". Upon hearing this he kindly informs me: "Don't tell me how to play bitch!!!!"
This shit happens all the time and the sheer amount of unjustified hatred astonishes me every time. You just have to roll with it I guess.

This.
So frustrating.
You either get a team that is awful as shit and you lose, or you rape the other team cause they're awful and rage, so you lose both ways.
What are some good custom campaigns?
I require zombies to slaughter!
Assuming you're only interested in finished campaigns, your current options are as follows:
Death Aboard is probably the most frequently played, so if you're looking for pubbies to play with this is your best bet. Takes place around a prison/dockyard. It's "finished" but unfortunately lacks many interesting concepts, as the few things it tries are either overly extended (the 4th level) or don't meet expectations (the finale). It's a mediocre campaign simply because its straight forward.
Dam It is probably the next most common campaign, and is one looooong level around a dam. Slightly higher quality than Death Aboard, but again lacks interesting content. One big downside is it is one long level, so if all of you die at any point (like the finale) your second attempt you have to redo the whole hour long level.
Night Terror is a novelty map, and is getting better at what it does. Features Haunted Mansion, Moria (from Lord of The Rings), and a few other set pieces. Recent updates have increased the detail on the haunted mansion map and decreased the bullshit difficulty on the Moria map. A roller coaster of quality, with some bits (the 28 Days Later level) being completely ignorable.
7 Hours Later is a day time map that takes place largely in the woods. Not much to say in favor of, or against this map. I've played it a couple of times, and not much stood out. Mostly 5 levels of forest. I guess it's worth a try if the negatives of the other maps turn you off, or if you're curious about a daytime setting.
Heaven Can Wait had a lot of potential, ruined by custom zombie spawns. A rather long campaign that features unique panic events and locales (including a car garage filled with alarmed cars, a collapsing bridge, and an unusually epic finale in a military base that somehow manages to add a third stage to finales). Unfortunately, while this probably would have been the best completed custom map so far, the mapper uses custom zombie spawns at nearly event panic event, which overrides the 30 zombie hard cap in the game and often ends up with over 100 common infected swarming you (which will lag out your comp and possibly make you crash).
That's about it. I'm one of about ...5 guys in this thread working on our own custom campaigns so I took it upon myself to check out the competition. Last I checked, those were all the finished ones even worth mentioning. If you're willing to try something unfinished (as in, only 3 of 5 levels exist so you never get to the finale), let me know. There are many interesting campaigns in that category being developed, such as Silent Hill and a few others.

The Armadeaddon chat is pretty active and still a good way of getting a game going with decent people (we had 2 full VS games going at once a few days ago). Just don't expect to get anything going in the middle of the afternoon.

This is also a pretty big lull in content released for L4D, and usually, people get on more when there is new stuff to try. Since we haven't truly had new stuff in a while, it is hard for people to keep coming back.

I also started "THE" in the beginning of the L4D release for the "Terribly Horribly Evil" group, an all Expert only campaign group for L4D, that would refuse any campaign that wasn't expert.
We should, however any hopes of that pretty much fall on one asshole who hates video games because they need to be kept away from impressionable children.

And his solution is to make it so instead of having games that only people aged 18+ can play, developers have to change them slightly so people aged 15+ can play them.

If they ask, i will answer. If they rage quit then there is nothing i can do.
except maybe laugh and feel hollow on the inside.
I'm figuring with the second one I'll be on the ground floor with everybody else.
