I am learning to tank for the first time, and it seems ALL healers generate insane levels of enmity. I have to run around in circles in a group if we pull more than one mob.
Its also amazing how many people don't know about the elemental stones for rezzing.... unfortunately I was in a group and had to use my special self-rezzing stone to bring back our healer. I got a regular one back, but its not the same
Our glorious leader, "Icemann" thought he had rezzed the healer by clicking on him. Silly boy.

I don't carry the sodding things. I have 1 fully expanded cube, and without a spare 170k for the next line... there just isn't the room.
I swear I am going to make a bunch of bank/broker alts soon, even if I have to get to 9 to go to sanctum.
8 broker slots is retarded.
Legion Bank Permissions are utterly utterly retarded.
(Still love the game)
Edit - If you were interested, and did not know, there is a nice Bandanna floating around in game. Which, of course, you can use as the model for all your helms.

Theirs a quest that adds a second cube, not sure if you just need to open 3 lines in the first cube or level restricted to enable it, you get it from some guy in the crafting area. But yeah the number of broker slots sucks, doesn't help that none of my stuff has been selling at all lately.
I have heard from AionSource that there might be some issues with the Broker.
edit: Damn, that looks pretty. Makes me wish I could figure out what button is my hidden prtscreen on this funky mac keyboard, so I can get my pose on.
double edit: Also, looking around for some fixes for my insane ping, i came across something for WoW which apparantly transfers. A registry fix that increases the number of TCP confirmations or summat? Meant reduce packet loss. Does that make sense to people who understand what that jargon means?

Man, I have to leave at like 9, and I just got this game downloaded and it's almost uploaded. Blargh! And I won't be back till Thursday. BLAARGHH!
Edit: I guess it was too much to ask that I'd actually play this game today >.>

As to the prodigious amounts of hate that healers bring, from what I have gone through it isn't all that hard to hold the mob's attention. I can usually tank 2 pretty easy, I hit one with normal stuff and the second just gets a provoke whenever that ability is up. I've found that provoke alone can usually hold aggro off the healers with a second mob.
Spiritmasters seem to be far larger hate generators for some reason. They're about the only class that appears to reliably be capable of getting the mobs attention off me.
so melee classes, do you guys just use your whole chain attack at once or let your character autoattack in between? ive switched from the latter to the former recently and my damage seems to have somehow increased.

We don't , the only three chain is our aethers hold - shoot fire- Magic fist and that's not really a 3 chain.
It's actually a good thing because many many classes third chain skill relies on a RNG proc , we don't have to worry about waiting for a random proc.
there is a list of chain skills in the abilities tab , I think the default key is "K" but don't hold me to that.
Death Machines that cause death and destruction while you DoT the hell out of something and/or fear / silence / melee silence / debuff / buff strip / other awesome stuff that is awesome.
So it's like a warlock only it's an actual debuffing class?
Well I am discouraged from playing my SM. It is the most interesting class for me apart from Ranger, but the damn spirits can't FLY. I thought this game was about FLYING.
Supposedly the next patch (1.6?) is going to fix this, but I can't figure out when we will actually get that patch.
As gladiator with a 2.5 weapon I usually wait for auto attacks. Usually goes auto attack, skill 1, skill 2, wait for auto attack, skill 3 in chain. Seems like a waste to not do auto attacks (since I find they tend to hit for more than my abilitys).
Guild called <Afternoon Delight> (well due to the guild name bug they are called <Afternoon Deligh> but that's not important right now) on my server have got the best legion cloak design.
Don't those have to be pre-approved by GMs or something? They don't care about trademarked images on cloaks? Also <Kind of a Big Deal> would of been better.
so melee classes, do you guys just use your whole chain attack at once or let your character autoattack in between? ive switched from the latter to the former recently and my damage seems to have somehow increased.
If you watch the damage numbers, you'll see that auto attack does almost the same amount as your special abilities. Also, notice that your special abilities disrupt (reset) the timer on your auto attack, meaning that if you always specials before your attack is timed to go off, it never goes off. That's free weapon damage being wasted at a small cost.
Therefore, the best way, at least what I have been doing to great success, is to (as much as possible) time each ability directly after an auto-attack. Get a rhythm going: swing-special ... swing-special ... swing-special. Even for shit like Rage which isn't a swing in itself, it still helps to be timed after an auto-attack or else you don't get that swing at all and miss out on X damage that you have to use up a special on instead.
My hypothesis is that this technique is one of the main determinants of how well players do at a melee class, as it represents a huge increase in damage output and efficiency, and doesn't seem very widespread yet.
Footnote: As I've only played Templar, YMMV for other classes, but it's something to keep in mind nonetheless.
Also worth noting that 'weaving' your attacks as it's pretty commonly called becomes less important later on when you can fill your rotation with abilities but still gives more sustained dmg as it won't fly through your mana.
Some instant abilities can overwrite an auto attack in motion and these should be used straight away, other standard attacks and chains can be pressed just as the auto attack animation starts and they will kick in just after the auto-attack.
Glad my Legion is staying ahead of the curve. We've got Ice Claw and Sky Temple basically to ourselves while 23972378 people camp Lava Caves...
Also, Utgar's camp in south Musphel is tits for grindan + cash. Target-rich environment close together and a nice repeatable kill quest for all the mobs rewarding like 6500 on top of the kinah you're already getting for junk and items.
As gladiator with a 2.5 weapon I usually wait for auto attacks. Usually goes auto attack, skill 1, skill 2, wait for auto attack, skill 3 in chain. Seems like a waste to not do auto attacks (since I find they tend to hit for more than my abilitys).
I'm also playing a Gladiator with a 2.5 weapon. I tend to let Auto attack hit first, and then follow by weakening sever blow to reduce the enemy's physical defense. With the right timing, I can get 4 skills off before WSB wears off (Ferocious Strike -> Robust Blow -> Wrathful Strike -> Seismic Wave). This tends to drop even level enemies to between 1/2 and 1/3 hp left depending on the enemy. At that point, a couple of auto attacks and maybe another Robust Blow and the enemy is dead.
On an unrelated note -- Pentacle Shock for Chanters seems broken. I know the tooltip says it has a 10% trigger chance off Incandescent Blow, but it really doesn't even appear to be that much to me. I did an entire repeatable kill quest (like 40 mobs total) which encompasses using Incandescent Blow probably a solid 80-100x and it proc'd once. One fucking time.
Man, I started using a 2-hander with my templar when I got those new strikes at 16. Holy fuck shit dies fast. I was kind of competing with a gladiator when killing those peckus near the observatory, at least I think I was. We both left the observatory around the same time and kept looking for peckus. We had the good graces not to steal eachother's kills, but I finished long before he did.
Also, switching to shield when they have those charge attacks is also win.
I picked this up yesterday and was going back and fourth between Ranger or chanter (hit 10 last night on ranger). I was holding off applying to the Sorcelators or Elemenstors as I wanted to have a more solid idea of which class I'll be playing, but is there a risk in not attaining a spot? Sounded like last night there was a lot of non-forumers trying to get in.
I'll ask tonight for an invite once I get in if that is the case.

In groups I buff, do some melee dps, off heal (and occasionally main heal), and even off-tank if the situation calls for it.
It's pretty great!
Yeah I hit 20 on chanter today have you noticed some freakishly large amounts of enmity (hate/threat) if you are the primary healer?
Mainly I just like knocking things on their arse with my staff.

use the start chain abiliy, wait for autoattack, as soon as i start to swing press next chain button, wait for autoattack.
I do this because if I spend the 1.5 out of the 2.5 seconds for auto attack, I may as well not waste it. It seems faster and more efficient.
