My dad's Iphone has just gone completely dead and I have no idea why. He updated it to the latest software last night and apparently this morning it won't turn on. I tried plugging it in in case it was a flat battery but nothing happening there either. Pushing the buttons does nothing, it seems to be dead with no reason.
His one isn't even that old in fact it's several months younger than mine and I've had no problems, the only difference is I havn't put the update on mine yet.
Try plugging it into a wall charger and leaving it for a while. If it doesn't have enough juice it may not connect to the computer and charge from USB.

"What are you dense? Are you retarded or something? Who the hell do you think I am? I'm the goddamn Batman!"
I thought if something like this happened Steve Jobs and Jesus would come to your house, lay their hands on your iPhone, and bring the thing back from the dead? I mean shit, man, isn't there an app for that?

Back in the day, bucko, we just had an A and a B button... and we liked it.
I did try plugging it into the wall though admittedly not for very long. But usually if it's flat and you plug it in the charging icon comes up so whatever is wrong with it it's more serious than a flat battery.

This happened to me the other day. Press and hold the "main" button (the circle button with the square-ish symbol in it) and the on/off/lock screen button (silver button on the top) for 5-10 seconds. It'll turn back on.
Right problem solved, when I tried doing the hard reset nothing happened but my mum cleaned some fluff out of the recharge socket then did a reset and it works fine now.

But I thought Jesus (and Steve Jobs) loved me (and my mon... iPhone)?
As usual mother knows best. :P
Thanks for the help guys.
