So I just got this for Christmas, and it is very confusing. What the hell do I do now that Tom has told me I am no longer his personal bitch? What can I collect? Plant? I can invite you people over? HALP!

You can fish and hunt for bugs. You can collect furniture, wallpaper and flooring and customize the look of your house. You can upgrade your house with Tom Nook and have yourself a nice little mansion over time. You can interact with your neighbors in a plethora of different ways. You can plant flowers and trees basically anywhere you like. You can crossbreed flowers to create unique hybrids. You can grow orchards of fruits and sell them for profits. You can go to the Able Sisters' shop and design your own outfits, floorings, carpets, or designs to place out in your town. You can design your own town flag. You can write your own town tune.

It's a great sandbox game. You can do whatever you want, and what you get out of the game depends on what you put in.

I've been playing every day for exactly one year now, and I'm still not bored of it.

edit: Add my friend code, and I'll add yours. If you want, you can come visit my town. It's not the best example of creativity amongst forumers, but it'll get the wheels turning.

The Animal Crossing games are a lot of fun for the first few weeks, but they're hard to enjoy in more than short bursts, and wear thin after a while.

I got this today too. I played the GC version for quite a while before getting bored and giving up, but I think this one will rekindle my love. The portability will be great, since I do most of my gaming on the bus to/from school.

Would anyone like a cherry in exchange for another fruit? I want to start an orchard and make some money.

Also, for those of you who use the friendcodes.com sigbars, how do you put your name and town in the sigbar? Can you do it on the site somehow or do you have to do it yourself in paint or something? I'd ask on the forums on the site but...well, if you've read them, you understand.

But yeah, I played the GC version forever too. Then I got the DS, but there just wasn't enough new stuff to make me care as much. I played for about a month, then I stopped.

I can give you a bunch of every type of fruit, if you want. Unless you'd rather prolonge the experience and get some enjoyment out of getting each type of fruit on your own.

No idea about the friendcodes bar, though, sorry. I've never used it.

I bought Wild World without ever playing the GC version and played it obsessively for a few months, then stopped playing and have only popped it in a few times since. It's just too much of a bitch picking all the weeds.

I can't wait for the inevitable Wii version though.

I feel your pain. 10 year olds run amok over there. Legitimate ones, unlike the 10 year olds here. :P Anyway, you just need to enter your name and town where you entered your friend code. Go here: http://www.friendcodes.com/forums/console.php?sys=ds and click on the picture of AC:WW, then click "Update" and enter your name and town. After you've done that, go here http://www.friendcodes.com/forums/sigbars.php and click the refresh icon beside your AC:WW sigbar. You might need to log out, log back in or just wait a bit for the change to register.

Sadly, this game is the first of 2 that I have lost for my DS (the other being Mario Kart). While fun, the game started to become a toss-up between work and play. It also would've probably helped if I were able to go online with it at the time (for some reason, Wi-Fi dongle wasn't working w/ Animal Crossing). With the rumor that a version of AC will be released for the Wii, along with the rumored feature to use Miis, I eagerly hope that it comes true.

This game kept me super busy when I first got it and had the chicken pox, but eventually I wouldn't play for a week and then I'd spend forever cleaning up my town from neglect.

It's cute and fun, but I don't like games I can't take a break from without regretting it.

Mine was full of weeds and roaches. I think I'm going to try to play more often now though - it seems like there's more to do in the DS version, Constellations and such to find. Fun stuff, just pisses me off that Nook's store is closed by the time I play. Is it cheating to set the clock back a few hours?
