Let's Play: Infernal - Set 12 - The Grand Finale

Infernal is a third person action game for Microsoft Windows, produced by Polish developer Metropolis Software and published by Playlogic International in 2007.
It is a modern-style third person shooter, with major first-person shooter influences. Players control protagonist Ryan Lennox, a former agent of light turned to the dark by unfortunate circumstances who has access to a number of unique demonic powers, including pyrokinesis, teleportation, and the ability to feed on the souls of fallen enemies.
The game has a metacritic score of 61/100 with mainly mediocre reviews saying it lacked polish and calling it last generation compared to current third person shooters of the time such as Gears of War and Resident Evil 4. On the other hand some reviews said it had good graphics and called it "mindless fun."
Well guys, if the above didn't wet your appetite, I'm not sure what will.
So my new LP is going to be this apparently terribly reviewed game, which is all about some smug Ex-Angel striking a deal with Hell's spy agency leader (who shares the same name with a Harry Potter character no less) receiving the ability to set his arm on fire in return. Did I mention there is lots of shooting and soul eating? Cause there is! Also, the dialogue in this game is hilarious. They actually use the word "mittens" in this game. Can you remember a shooter with the word "mittens" in it? I can't!
So join me on my trip around the world with Ryan Lennox, shooting lots of bald dudes and feasting on their souls!
Haha I could have sworn in the opening sequence of the game you were getting shot and then heal slightly as a result. Looks to be a pretty fun romp, we'll see how it pans out

I enjoyed it for what it was, but looking back it actually seemed a pretty generic third-person shooter.
And, if you haven't noticed this already, when you reload you only do it by clips. So if you use 2 bullets out of a clip of 12, instead of recycling the bullets back into your pool when you reload, you lose 10 bullets.
I may have only had a school cadet's training, but goddam is the 'over and out' thing really annoying. It's either 'over' when you are expecting a reply, or 'out', if you're ending a conversation. Stupid developers trying to sound like heaven and hell are incredibly advanced military orginisations.
Black kinda pisses me off with his constant whinging.
"You're useless, Lennox..! Why haven't you completed the game already, Lennox...! All my other agents are dead, but they'd still do a better job than you, Lennox!"
I really want Lennox to go, "Arrgghh!! Then get off your arse and do it yourself. Otherwise, shut up, gimme the cool toys and let me get on with it!"
Otherwise, I'm enjoying it so far. I mean, this game has shuriken in it. How can anyone not enjoy a game that boasts monks that throw ninja stars and cut loose with submachine guns.
What is up with the voice acting? It sounds like bad dubbing of a Japanese work, which would make sense, but they can do better There are bizarre turns of phrase that aren't used in modern English, but maybe it's an old monk thing to talk like that.

Leet speak. All the incoherent techno-monks do it these days.
Wow, that really was the most stupid death trap. They could have at least made you do something cool like teleport.
Yep, as death traps go, that was probably the most feeble attempt I've ever seen. Even a James Bond villian would have second thoughts about setting up that one.
So far, so good. I'm enjoying this LP and am looking forward to seeing just how much more ridiculous this game can get.

I told you! There is some bizarre phrasing in this game, like it was translated back and forth between two languages with a dictionary and a freshman in college.
How did I miss another Klyla LP for this long? It's good to see you back in action, man.
Never heard of this game, and I think there's a reason for that. Every time I think it can't get goofier, it does. The dude needs hell powers to break boards! Now behold the awesome power of InvisiRoll! But what's this? Nobody can get out of this gas trap, which has the control switches inside the trap!
The MGS references just seal it. Great stuff, keep it coming
I see that Elena subscribes to the Darth Vader school of employee management. I mean, there the guy was, just taking a quick break and enjoying his pizza and she decides to test out the defence system on the poor bastard? o_O That's pretty harsh.
And we're definitely wandering into Bond territory here. Seriously, jetpacks? We've still got a way to go in this game and we've already got convoluted death traps and honest-ta-god jetpacks... I don't know if my mind can conceive of what could possibly be yet to come.
Aaaaand caught up. So far so good! The game is....well, what it is, but the commentary more than makes up for it.
I'm just kind of wondering. What happens when you kill an Angel/Ex-Angel/Infernal in this game's universe? It just seems, I dunno. Maybe not the most thought out thing.
Anyways, that teleport mechanic is surprisingly neato.
