[Help] Connecting an LCD TV to My Computer

fmz65fmz65 Registered User regular
So I just bought a new LCD TV/Monitor because my old one died and my backup is a super old really not good quality monitor. My new monitor/TV has a D-Sub hook-up, but unfortunately it says it "Doesn't recognize the signal." Is this because my video card isn't good enough? Or do I just need to restart my computer for it to "connect?"

TIA

What is your video card / monitor?

That would be the first step.

Have you tried adjusting the resolution in your video card's display settings? The TV's resolution is 1366 x 768, probably quite different than your old monitor.

Edit 2: Actually I'm an idiot and forgot to reposition my monitors on the settings screen according to how they are IRL.

Thanks for all the help though!
