the Christmas special is getting a dvd / blu-ray release.

oh, did anyone watch it in HD? It didn't look particularly great but still, for this show it was amazing.

The abortion episode, with the dual storylines of Dennis and Mac picking up ladies at the abortion rally and Charlie using the kid to impress coffee shop girl, is probably my favorite.

Haven't seen seasons 3 or 4 yet. Is 3 out on DVD?

Jesus Christ, why is this not up on Hulu yet? I have a bad feeling that it won't be.

Episodes on Hulu show up 8 days after the original airdate.

It's only right there on the damn website.

Shit. I uh, have no response to that.

Still sucks, as every other show I've watched on Hulu has an agreement that allows for airing of the episode the next day.

Forgive my snarkiness but I love doing that. I think it's fairly standard, though: House airs the same way, for example. And I think Sons of Anarchy does too.

They do it because that way if you miss an episode you can't catch it on Hulu before the next one airs, and they are assholes.

There are some people out there who don't like it because of its complete lack of sentimentality, and because the characters are terrible people who never learn any lesson, despite bad things always happening to them. Those people are wrong, boring, and we shall speak of them no more.

And that is why this show is great. Most of the horrible things that the gang gets into is a result of a more-or-less normal reaction any sane person would have.... except it's always taken a step too far, and the characters lack the normally redeeming understanding of sympathy or empathy or mores or norms or laws.

I mean: what should we consider as more alarming?

The fact that this show (with much of its humor derived from schadenfreude) exists?
    -or-
The fact that people expect TV to provide its viewers with a moral compass?

Or maybe FX wants to prove that its first original show has similar viewer pulling power compared to original shows on any other network.

Maybe they're well aware its primary demographic is tech-saavy enough to use Hulu and Torrent and if they can skip watching this network, whose original content division is still in its infancy, they probably will.

Maybe it's so it doesn't get canceled.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia was awesome as per usual but I think I may have laughed more at Archer. Given that Archer was done by the Sealab 2021/Frisky Dingo team and has Jon Benjamin it being awesome wasn't too much of a surprise for me, so here's hoping it sticks around.

The problem is that on-demand can't steal airtime from other networks. If they start focusing on Hulu instead, they're essentially conceding that slot to their competition.

By all means steal the airtime by putting your awesome programming on TV. Just also put it all on Hulu so you can reap commercial revenue from people who will watch your whole series in one day and then a few months later do it again with a friend who ABSOLUTELY HAS TO SEE THIS THING.

The people who dislike Sunny are no doubt Seinfeld fans - never mind they are damn near the exact same show. These last two episodes haven't been AS strong as episodes of seasons past (especially Season which really didn't have a single clunker), but it is still better than 95% of the other stuff out there. From the promos for the remaining episodes, it looks like the show will pick up.

I disagree with you on two points.

First, I though tonights episode was as good as any episode.

Second, I don't know which season you are talking about, but every season has an episode that just falls flat, it happens.

It's just so strange, because seasons 1, 2, and 4 (I haven't seen any of 3 yet, but it's probably safe to assume) kept getting more and more wild and bizarre, and now these first two episodes have felt really laid back and toned down in comparison. The plots used to keep building and building to the point of implosion, but in the last two episodes the plots have pretty much remained the same for the duration of the episode without things getting too much more ridiculous. It's entirely a coming down experience after all the ridiculous shit that happened in season 4, with Sinbad, the colonial episode, and the musical.
