Over the past few days my desktop PC keeps losing its wireless connection from the wireless router downstairs after a few hours of connection.
After it loses connection I cant even find the signal after re searching for it. The router is fine, always powered on and recieving the broadband signal. Only restarting my PC fixes it.
Guessing its my wireless PCI card but not sure, ideas?
Based on the way you described it, it probably is your wireless card. Another possibility is that something is causing interference, like a cordless phone. I thought something was wrong with my wireless card for awhile, because it seemed like the wireless would just stop randomly. Then I found out that it was a phone.
Yeah, you can try changing wireless channels on the router to get around possible interference.
One other thing to try is if your routers wireless mode is using mixed (g+b) try it on g only. Sometimes helps.
