TL;DL: The two station systems containing the majority of Goon assets are now in enemy hands. Writing is on the wall and there is no way to defend Delve given the current situation.
So what, ALL of Goonfleet is just going to stop playing? Done with the game?
Somehow I doubt that. Even if they lose Delve, they can eventually rebuild and get it back.

nothing was said about goons stopping playing. we're moving back to syndicate.
I bet the swarm is pumping out misdirection and misinformation in volume, right now. I've read too much about the GIA to think the swarm is just going to roll over on Delve. :P
I don't think goons are rolling over on delve, I think they just got bored. Life in delve was pretty boring, noone to really fight. Now at least we can go on an all out goonfensive without the risk of losing shit. This is far from the end of goons, pretty much just goons are going to take their shenanigans elsewhere
I don't think Goonswarm ever really wanted Delve as such , they just wanted to keep Molle from having it. Plus it was ludicrously profitable for a while, which was a nice bonus.

This really is kind of amusing timing since The Mittani is suppose to be a speaker at GDC this year where he was going to speak about the disbanding of BoB and aspects of espionage as a whole. Makes one wonder how he'll talk about this.

I almost fell over laughing when I read this.
Pleased to be of service!
I haven't been active in the game for a couple years now, but I still play, in the Skill-Switching Online sense. I'm sure my mental conception of the current state of the game are ludicrously inaccurate. :P

"And then one day the Goonswarm directors all went on vacation and forgot to pay the electric bill."

Why? This had nothing to do with spies. IT literally did nothing but drop 2 TCUs in their prime time, which onlined completely in their prime time with little chance for people in the US to react.
This was a director screw up of magnificent proportions.
Honestly? Even looking at this from the other side. Beautiful.
While i suppose grinding you down would have been it's own sort of pleasure. It's nothing compared to this, this is simply magnificent. If Goons had to go down, and i personally was hoping they would, this way is so much better than boring alarm clock ops and station timers.
Though i can't say i'm unhappy to avoid more god damn bombers. Good god you lot have a nasty bomber wing.
We're evaccing Delve and going to ride bikes in Syndicate. This is probably the worst thing to happen to empire dwellers in a long time since Syndicate apparently is awful and therefore the best way to make money is to suicide gank people in high sec.
And I think everybody can agree that this is about the most goony way to lose a region.
Goons are retreating to their ancestral homeland of syndicate (0.0 npc space). There, the directorate will spend a week or two reorganizing itself and hopefully some heads will roll.
From that point, it will be decided what region they want to live in / conquer next. There are some options on the table right now, but no one knows for sure with the political climate the way it is.
Our last Delve invasion was the most fun I had in EVE, because we were on the offensive, shit got boring quick after that.
Now that we're in a position where we could potentially take it back again, there's no way I can't resub.
Ehhhhh, were not going to be retaking delve any time in the near future.
IT alliance and friends outnumber us 18+ hours of the day and in order to take over a station, we would have to win 4 times in a row, during Euro prime.
This is still a fun time to resub though, because everything is in flux and we're in the process of finding a brand new region to bully the current residents out of.

This is why I think that the plan to move to Syndicate is fucking brilliant. Let the other alliances battle against the Dominion sov bullshit. Meanwhile the Goons can go back to what they do best.

I've seen a fair few Goons previously taking the piss out of PL for saying pretty much the same thing
Is there any idea as to how successful the goon breakouts were in NOL and J-L? I know it's not as bad as PR-, but they still seem to have a lot of stuff there.

Personally, I'd like it if the goons settled in Venal and/or cannibalised TCF after Syndicate. I really hope they terrorise Empire during their stay.

anyone who thinks this is the goonpocalypse is dumb
catastrophe->fun times while scrambling to recover->recovery->catastrophe

3. "Check's in the mail" doesn't cut it with CONCORD. Seriously, they'll throw you out on the street.
What makes it all the more amusing though is to read Solar Spymaster for this week where Mittani talks about holding 49- with the previously unattempted gambit of assaulting one's own system, only to lose a bunch more by not paying rent.
I hope you daft sods manage to get some of that out, but at the end of the day it's just isk, it can all be replaced....remember you still have each other, now who wants a hug
god damn this just gets better and better. i would have been dissapointed if it had gone down any other way. the only thing goons have to fear are goons themselves

This would be a good time to lose everything I own, apparently.

NO WAIT, ACTUAL LEAK FROM GOON FORUMS: Everyone get in Rifters and suicide!
SRS, FOR REAL LEAK FROM FORUMS: Quick, everyone subscribe to LOTRO and spell out names with corpses!
