Indoor unfortunately. The nearest outdoor place would be the Yoo Yangs or something and unfortunately getting there during daylight hours while working full time just isn't feasible. Melbourne has a few good indoor places though.
That one's alright. The same company that owns the Swanston St one has one out in Nunawading which is where I go. And if Nathan Drake can climb rocks, we all can! It's just intimidating at first.
Hard runthrough done, gonna jump straight into crushing.
I totally cheesed the last boss fight:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbfpv8n8h68
Basically just shimmy back and forth around that one block. Big Ugly Bitch will stalk you on top of/around it, occasionally shouting bad guy stuff and shooting you in the fingers. There's a conveniently placed wad of sap just off to the side, pop it quick with a pistol blast whenever it respawns.
I don't feel a lick of guilt about doing it this way, either:
Nate's in a fight with a guy twice his size sporting a sawed-off shotgun who's also roid raging from Buddhist Invincibility Goo. It is COMPLETELY in character for Nathan Drake to cheese the hell out of that if he can :P
Also I am not looking forward to traversing the first 2 chapters, again, before I can get to the good shit on my Crushing run. Hurray for Fast Motion, I guess.
cheesing that boss fight is a thing that i didnt know about, but im going to do the hell out of that right now to beat him on crushing. i about had a fucking aneurysm the other night trying to do it legit. i had to take a day off the game i was so pissed.
Re: cheesing final boss fight
That qualifies as cheesing? Isn't that what you were supposed to do in the first place? It's what I did on my first try. Kinda obvious, I thought.

That's like killing The Boss with a sniper rifle. Sure it's possible but do you deserve the ending doing it? I beat him on hard first try (though I did die a few times on normal). I'm far more worried about
the fight beforehand. The one with a ton of soldiers and Captain Atom wannabes. It's pretty damn frustrating, especially if you die mid-way and lose all the ammo the soldiers have dropped.
youre supposed to run around with him chasing you and turn and pop sap things as he walks by them. it turns out that this is horrible and unfun and his random lucky nade bounces near the end of the fight make it a total crapshoot.

I'm going to try that tonight...I'm playing on Hard, first run, and this part is pissing me off.

Ugh. More people need to play this online. I was forced to pub last night, and consistently got stuck on teams who either refused to get objectives, or refused to get kills / stay alive.
One game I was on a team with another lvl 41 guy and a few guys with blue shields. I thought, fine, we'll have a decent chance against a team with several orange shield guys. The lvl 41 guy went 1 - 11, and I had the top spot on our team with a 8 - 12 K : D ratio
Whenever I'm the best player on my team it never ends well. It hasn't been a problem the past few sessions as it feels like the majority of the players have mastered shooting Piggy in the head after soaking up bullets with their back. I gots to learn how to aim better :P

At this rate I'll lose my 10-1 W:L ratio
Sorry Carbon the hunger for Demon's Souls called to me. I'll be back again soon. (after I lose another 20k souls I'll need a break)
I’ll tell you what happens in Demon’s Souls when you die. You come back as a ghost with your health capped at half. And when you keep on dying, the alignment of the world turns black and the enemies get harder. That’s right, when you fail in this game, it gets harder. Why? Because fuck you is why.
If I'm online and in single player (and it's not super late) I'll always hop over to multi. Uncharted 2 is the only game on my plate until Dragon Age comes out.
But I'm on eastern time and i usually start to go to bed around 11ish. I also suck, as Carbon's incessant "eggy where are you?!" is proof ;D But I'm damn good at standing inside a glowing ring.
man that cheese way made the last boss really easy. my shiny new platinum trophy says thanks
also i plan on playing more online but first i have to play borderlands for like 700 hours i think.
I will be applying the cheese method when I get home this evening, as I spent 2 hours (until 2 gorram AM) attempting to beat it last night with increasing frustration.
Especially when I was at the last cycle and I fell off the edge of the planet. :?
Yeah, I cheesed him too I guess, but it still wasn't "really easy" for me. For a cheese way I was kind of expecting to beat it in a little bit, and without much effort. You still really gotta be on your toes and you can't waste pistol shots, which is hard because the view on the sap he's near more is really freaking limited and I just want to keep shooting to hit it. I lost 2 or 3 times before getting it using that method, just from running out of pistol rounds. On my winning time my screen went white a few times too because he can still shoot you.
I'm really starting to think there's some conspiracy to make me buy shitty games. I've no idea how this game scored so high, the production is through the roof and the dialogue is pretty funny but what a load of bullshit the game is.
It was pretty average UC1 fair until the train section which was just instant death after instant death for me, due to Nathan choosing to cling and take cover to the most random shit. The whole train section was just bullshit.
I've never been angry at a game but that section made me throw my controller. There were so many bullshit ways to die instantly. Doesn't help that that it interupts all the shitty platforming with being shot at. Then when you finally think your done you go to open that door and the helicopter rockets you in the back. Bullshit.
Even before that section, I was no where near blown away like so many others. I'm just really confused at what I'm not seeing here.
I know I'll probably get some flack for saying this, but games shouldn't make me feel frustrated when i'm playing on normal. That train section was fucking terrible. So bad.

You're completely right here. Games shouldn't make you feel that frustrated on normal, and this one is no exception. You have to be doing something wrong to be playing that badly.
I hate to say it, but... You suck. I did it all first try on normal.
Maybe I do suck, but that shouldn't stop me from enjoying the game. I sucked at batman, but I least I knew it was my fault when I died. It just feels like the game is punishing me for not having precog, and its shitty controls.
Yea, the problem's not the game, it's that you're not quite doing it right. You should be able to platform and shoot at the same time, because if you can't, the rest of the game will be hell. Remember that you can roll off the top of the train and hang on the sides.
if youre getting so frustrated on normal why not try easy or very easy? then once you get a hang of the controls and figure out whatever youre doing wrong now you can try normal again if you feel like it.
I did all that, but when I got to the door after you shoot the helicopter it shot me in the back. Like 3 times in a row.
Edit: and I think you guys are missing the point of it not being fun. That's a major point. Not fun. I finished the first uncharted no bother.
Ah_Pook: the game is easy, its just the train section with the helicopter. So many random instant deaths, like a rocket will land within ten feet or when I go to open a door or some shit. Or nathan will cover stick to something random.
I'll admit, the Train part pissed me off too. My verision of Nathan liked to try and grab cover where there wasn't any and I'd roll off the side of the train, alot.
However, it was still really fucking cool and fun.
Just had the PS3 freeze up for the 3rd time. First two times near the end of the game in the giant room (where a lot of people got hit), but this time it locked up just past the tutorial...
After freeing Chloe from the elevator, following her up the ladder where she immediately kicks the trap door shut and then frozen. I guess I wasn't supposed to be on her ass so close :winky:

Man, I thought I was going insane. Thank you.
I got to the bit where you open the door with triangle, after you shoot the helicopter with the rpg, and got rocketed by the chopper. I did that 3 times. I just don't like how if I don't do it a specific way I die instantly. That's not fun for me.

It tagged me there once. The second time I just hit jump right away and it did it's little cinematic thing and I was fine after that.
It the games defence though, at least it doesn't control as horribly as Gears did for me. Instead of missing cover to stick to, I was constantly sticking to cover I didn't want. which really wasn't cover because enemies were also using the same cover.
The helicopter's rockets are far from "random." It gives you a pretty damned big audio clue before it launches them, and that clue should tell you to get the fuck to the next car IMMEDIATELY.

It gives me rage knowing that's the end of that section, because i've gotten to the door 3 times, and died 3 times while opening it.
Also, the cover system seems about the same as Gears for me. Both seem to stick to completely random shit.
Radikal: Is it really supposed to hit me when I'm opening that last door? Really? Even after I've shot it with the rpg?

Too clumsy to rock climb though. :P
Playing through for the first time, and jeez.
SniperGuyGaming on PSN / SniperGuy710 on Xbone Live
I enjoyed it though. On hard it's nearly like a puzzle game trying to clear the rooms.

youre supposed to shoot it with the rpg and open the door before it recovers. if you dont do this fast enough it will recover and kill you.
