Yeah, I learned the hard way that you can't dodge until it's within a certain distance, and it accelerates like a motherfucker.
hey guys, after seeing this thread pop back up i just thought i would ask:
me and my brother recently bought resident evil 5 for the xbox 360 but everytime we try to play co-op online we get disconnected after a short amount of time. i have tried searching for a solution but dont seem to be getting any answers.
does anyone know anything about this?
we can play other games with no problems over live.
p.s. sorry guys i dont post often and i have no idea how to remove my avatar, so apologies if it is annoying
This might be one of those issues with network NAT settings. Run the live test and see if the NAT tests moderate. If it does, then, well, you're in the same boat as me. Let I just make someone eles host.
All the movies have been pretty shit, especially the one with the birds and gas station and Claire(not CGI but I heard that was crap too). I'd like the more classic/gothic/mysterious/heavy emotional vibe of Resident Evil, not all-in-black SWAT/military teams stuck in a generic science facility with blue lighting. I liked the second one the best for sure.
I just want some thought provoking emotional exposition between my action scenes
The CG animated movie was essentially a two hour long cutscene.
When Resident Evil released on the original PlayStation in 1996, it was one of the first titles available that really helped the console stand out in the then Nintendo and Sega dominated market. Since then, the series has seen 5 main installments and a number of spin-offs, making it the most successful and beloved survival horror franchise in history.
To celebrate 15 years of Resident Evil, Capcom has released a special anniversary trailer.
I'm pretty sure those hopes are going to be stamped on, but damn it, there's so much good that could go right here.
The 3DS is getting a lot of Resident Evil love there too with three new games from just that trailer.
Altough the PS3 and 360 both look to be getting one new game and two HD remakes themselves. All around plenty of awesomeness to be had.

Right there with you Witch Doctor. Looks pretty sweet.
Even though I hate Code: Veronica with a passion I'm such a sucker for Resident Evil I'll grab that HD Remake. 4 is a given. I intend to get a 3DS when some good games come out for it so Mercs and Revelations are a given.
Still, would be nice to get 0/Remake (or even 1)/2/3 on XBLA/PSN. A man can dream.

anyone else notice that on the Code: Veronica (which looks FANTASTIC) and RE4 logos, it shows "XBox Live GAMES ON DEMAND" under them?
NOT XBox Arcade?
Think they'd still have achievements? I know the XBox 360 Games on Demand do, but all the original XBox games that are On Demand don't. It's weird that these titles will be released under the "On Demand" banner, instead of Arcade, simply because of the file size.

Well I doubt they'd implement achievements for games they just port over to the xbox download service. This is a full remake so they are more likely to put in achievements.
Wait, did I hear 'HD RE4 on 360' up there? Because if so, I'm going to have to think up some witty las plagas themed 'all my head tentacles are floppy' comment.

Raccoon City. Survival. Leon S. Kennedy. Maybe even co-op? Do I dare to hope? Resident Evil 2 atmosphere and puzzles, modern Resident Evil combat? I'm a little giddy at the prospect.
Resident Evil 4 HD? Bought. I may leave credit on the PSNetwork wallet just waiting for it.

It's a 3rd person squad based shooter by the people who did ghost recon, and what little they've shown looks hilariously floaty. Like, old ps1 analog floaty. You know when people run and they look like they're gliding on the ground or ice skating?
Nothing I've seen or heard about it has left me with any amount of confidence.
I don't have a 3DS yet and only mild interest in Mercenaries, but WHOO BECKY YEAH!!! At least the one good thing about this is we get a large roster of characters to use without having to buy DLC. . . yet. . .

But I enjoyed the outbreak games so who knows!!
Also, not to rain on your parade, but I don't think you read the press release about the title (Rougeknight, that is). That's not a slam against you at all - but just so you know, Im going to just comment quickly on each of your excitement points.
Raccoon City. - yes, this part is true! It will be in and around Raccoon City, during the span of RE2 and 3.
Survival. - I guess, but not like you're thinking. You will have to survive, but not really "Resident Evil oh god no ammo and I need herbs" survive. You're an Umbrella soldier. You're all armored up and have automatic weapons and machine guns and whatnot. You're not really too worried about survival I'd think.
Leon S. Kennedy. - Oh he'll be there. Absolutely. Arguably now more popular than Chris Redifeild and Jill Valentine, you will see RE's big star. But you get to kill him. We think. The press release makes some comments about "making sure no one gets out alive to tell about Umbrella's plans." and "change the course of Resident Evil history." So many are speculating heavily this means that you'll see Leon, and shoot him in the face. That's the extent of Leon's involvement.
Co-Op - 4 player Co-Op! Squad co-op! I didnt know these guys did Ghost Recon, but I do know this is the studio responsible for SOCOM. I don't think the first SOCOM either.
Resident Evil 2 Atmosphere and Puzzles - I don't think the atmosphere looked very RE2, other than the actual location. It was creepy quiet city streets looking, with shambling zombies and scary shadows. It was balls out chaos, which is more Left 4 Dead than RE2 to me. And I would be shocked if there is any puzzles at all.
So I really don't mean to shit on your excitement, and by all means I hope so badly YOU are right. But it just doesn't look that way. When I first heard this, I wanted it to very much be what I hoped Dead Island was going to be. I want 4 player Co-Op like RE Outbreak or whatever was. We're normal folks, or STARS members stranded, or whatever - sharing our items, barracading safe locations, trying to survive. Someone told a story in this thread earlier about playing Outbreak, and when they had to go eat dinner or something, saying to his 3 team mates that they should take his stuff and run. Then he valiantly fended off the horde and bought his friends time while he died. THAT is awesome.
In this, the Campaign portion will be as "Umbrella Security Force", which sounds dumb. And the Vs? The opponent will be the "US Army". So literally SOCOM again.

There's tons of time left to refine everything, tons of potential to be sooooo awesome. I will remain fully optimistic on this one. Aaaaaaaand HD Resi4 and CV? Good time to be a RE fan!

Rebecca was the worst character in 5s Mercs Reunion. An all around leech for any co-op mercs and extremely useless melee moves, along with very weak weaponry made her a sponge with her three first aid sprays.
I'm more partial to Chris boulder bashin' Redfield and Jill. Jill because she was my first (experience with RE, like most of us)
Hey, what about Claire? What is she, chopped Licker?
The way Capcom itself is touting Operation: RC as "shooter first, horror second" makes me remember why I've been slowly distancing myself from the series lately: RE 4 was a terrific blend of action and intensity, often giving you just enough supplies and ordinance to rock some faces with the threat of being overwhelmed or put in a bad spot always looming overhead to keep the "survival horror" aspect somewhat intact. RE 5 really lacked that, especially with your partner watching your back, and compensated by just tossing wave after wave of enemies at you.
I don't mind action in my RE games as long as they're in the right genre (like the Chronicles games, being arcadey lightgun shooters, or the Mercenaries minigames), but O:RC sounds like it's being taken in the opposite direction from what I'd like to see in something with that kind of setup. It might be okay but at this point my hopes for it aren't exactly high.
Capcom letting the guys at Visceral make Resident Evil 6.
You know what else would be awesome?
A followup to RE4 Wii edition that does not involve me buying a PS3 and Move and is NOT Dead Rising Wii (A game I slightly enjoyed but am ok with admitting that it was weaksauce).
Pointer shooting in RE4 was so, so good.

What? No. SOCOM. And they didn't really 'do' SOCOM, they made a few spinoffs (including the awesome Tactical Ops). They helped develop Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror too, only on the technical side though.

It really said something when she was the only character in all of mercs whose "on one knee from behind" melee attack did not kill any normal enemy instantly. Everyone else that's a guaranteed instant kill because it's more difficult to pull off a back attack so they figure you deserve it, but nope. Not her.

I pretty strongly disagree with this, actually. It only takes one machine gun shot to the face + flame spray melee to kill basic enemies, and her shotgun lacks range (naturally) but still kills plenty effectively up close when you need breathing room. Her non-flame spray melee moves were terrible yes, but she's still very effective for getting high scores. If nothing else I'd say Heavy Metal Chris is worse, or at the very least far more difficult to use well enough to get similar scores.
