As I recall, Bastila was the character in the KotoR games who used a double bladed lightsaber. Hers was yellow.
Of course, I hated Bastila with a burning passion and wanted to flay her with the force at the cost of falling to the dark side (it would totally be worth it).
And also, for anyone who played the Jedi Academy game, double bladed and dual wield were both viable options in that game.
Consular's look interesting. For a class that was being described as a second line fighter using force powers. The whole Double Bladed lightsaber thing isn't really fitting.
Am I the only one who thinks it would have made a hell of a lot more sense for the Sith Warrirors to be the ones who "favor" the Double Bladed saber? Seeing that the only time we see a double bladed saber in the movies it's a sith weapon?
I think Bioware may have popped a gasket.
It does. In both KOTOR games, and in pretty much every bit of Star Wars media to date, double bladed lightsabers have been made out to be the hyper-aggressive tool of a combat focused Jedi/Sith. It's both expressly stated by characters in each game and seen to be favored by warriors.

I would do horrible horrible things to Bastilla :winky:, just not in the manner you had described.
I really wish they'd reveal info on races already. Even only something like "We're going to have them." Like my girlfriend said yesterday: "I know I'm going to end up playing as a human, but I'd like it to be the option of playing as a human."

It's conjecture based on not knowing context. "What? Each player has companions? WHY MAKE IT ONLINE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE."
Even knowing context it still doesn't matter to a lot of these old hardcore types. If it's not 120% forced grouping with 1500-man raids being the only way to level and you lose your account and your house and you get deported to Siberia when you die the game is just too damn dumbed-down.

It would be awesome if the Trooper's companions were the rest of his fire-team.
Having 3-4 trooper followers that you could customize their combat abilities and their equipment would be so cool. Have battle orders as some of your characters abilities where the entire squad could lay down suppressing fire as an AOE.
And it would be equally awesome if as a Jedi you eventually got an NPC Padawan follower.

Build your own Republic Commando squad. I like it.
In one of the plethora of interviews floating around the internet, one of the developers said that you can acquire a stable of companion characters but can only use one at a time.

Actually, I recall seeing an interview where that is the case. A Jedi might very well get an apprentice...or was it a Sith? I think it was the case though.

Already been confirmed in several interviews.
An example of which would be...?
Okay, I know there's been one or two interviews where they've mentioned it, but I can't really fine them now.
I did find this forum post by Sean Dahlberg which says, "You will be able to play other species, we just have not announced those other species yet."

Associating them with Consulars is weird as hell.
Yeah... I usually see them as single-blade, defensive fighters, with "buzzsaw builds" like Yoda being an outlier.
I'm tempted to roll a Twi'lek male so people can constantly ask me what race I am.
Well, people who played KOTOR will know because they were freaking everywhere and only had like one voice clip, but I imagine many others will have no idea that Twi'leks aren't a race of twin-tail headed green and blue lesbian babes.
I do wonder how crazy they'll go with the races. With the prequel series, KOTOR, and EU we've got something like 50 different flavors of humans and near-humans.
I'm guessing they'll keep the number pretty low, but you never know.

The Greedo race is called Rodians, and yes, it is very likely that Rodians will be playable in SW TOR. They are one of the most featured races in SW EU, and they appeared in both of the KotOR games.

I think everyone will have to make a Twilek chick in TOR. Like how you have to make a Night Elf chick in WoW, or a catgirl in City of Heroes. It's just expected.

I have pretty much the entire male Twi'lek version of their one single set of moonspeak essentially memorized from having heard it so many times.

Kel Dor is a confirmed race right?
I remember seeing a screen somewhere...
The only "confirmed" race is human. None of the playable characters in any of the demos have been anything but. That being said, the developers have said there will be multiple races to choose from, but none are official as of yet.
The races that have showed up in the demo vids:
Togruta
Kel Dor
Chagrian
Dashade (thought this was a Savrip at first)
Trandoshan (apparently, I thought this was a Duros at first)
Nikto
Screenshots:
Gran
Mon Calamari
Kaleesh
Selkath
The question remains: are these companion-only races, or will they be playable?

For the love of the Force, I seriously hope either every race speaks Galactic Basic (or Sith equivalent) or they have more than 3 sound bytes for each gender/language combo.

50?
You're kidding right?
Then they'll probably also have the Greedo race, whatever that is, to appease all the people who are stupid and suck.
Also, everyone from group A also belongs to group B.
It's nowhere near enough is what I'm getting at.
There are two kinds of CoH players in the world: Those who have a catgirl character, and those who lie about not having one.
I was a bothan, did not realize how short they could be until I got in game and stood face to navel with a wookie.
