So, where is the Halo Reach beta code thing? I was looking for it, mostly out of curiosity, and can't seem to find anything resembling what might be a code for it on my instructions. I saw a little flier that came with it, but that doesn't have anything on it other than telling me to go to halo.xbox.com, which also didn't tell me much >_>
I believe it's on the Halo ODST Campaign Disc, I am not sure exactly where but I will look and post for you as well.
There is no code or anything you can do to unlock the Reach beta right now. Your ODST disc is the key for the beta. This is so your disc stays out of the used game marketplace during the game's first few months at retail.

I just had a good run with Viscount, apparently, the trick on 'Lost Platoon' is to whore the choppers like you wouldn't believe.
Also, there's a Spartan laser in the garage armory. I wish I had known that two rounds earlier, but in any case, we almost cleared all three rounds.
Health packs are up top. Not sure what tough luck really does but I guess I'll find out. Seriously fuck those wraiths. They can burn in hell.

Also, health packs automatically give you back your stamina, I found....which is nice if there's no convenient shield-guy or grunt nearby. Especially since melees do NOT return your health.
Gotta cook lunch. Do want to play some more afterwards though.
All right, so I started up my Xbox today, get told there's an update, select update now, and now my Xbox is frozen with the progress bar just barely started. The time has not even changed (it's been at the same time for 10 minutes).
Anyone have any suggestions? I don't want to turn it off (they're serious when they say don't turn off your console.. happened to me once with my PS2). Has this happened to anyone else? Do I just need to wait?
So, did anyone else have to set up their Bungie.Net accounts again? I had one setup in 07 for Halo 3, but when I went to sign in it wouldn't let me advance any further and kept telling me to relink my logins and all that.

Sandtrap's is fun/painful to get. I ended up building a tunnel with the tunnel pieces.
Had a great time in the couple of Firefight games I was able to get in last night - thanks, guys. I'll be up for more any time. I'm also willing to do co-op runs whenever, although I've yet to finish the campaign solo.

Question on some random enemy early on in the game:
Big jellyfish looking thing, floats around, doesn't attack while you're in battle with other guys. Then when everyone was cleared out it exploded and I got a "NAUGHTY BOY: 1 of 10" message on the side.

It's a covenant engineer. They're described fairly well in the Halo books, they're basically the scientist caste of Covenant society. They love to disassemble things and put them back together. Are supposedly completely innocent and non-concerned with the war.. all they care about is figuring out how things work.

it's an engineer, they give shields to enemies around them. there's an achievement for killing 15 of them, and then one for not killing them? i'm not sure
I'm fine with any difficulty mode, so long as its got at least one warthog on the level. Someone else should host too, I've still got two levels locked.

It has a lot of replay value, with achievements and various difficult mods, as well as co-op play.
So I would say yes--especially if you enjoyed Halo 3 anyway.
