So browncoat, lookfree, ghost and I started day dreaming about a reverse firefight in reach or something.
Basically, if you had a squad of 4 elites to play as in firefight, imagining playing against marines in the waves, some with mongeese some in hornets, so on and so forth. The "Chieftan wave" would be the "Spartan Wave"
Imagine going to toe to toe against 4 spartans. 4, duel-wielding, regenerating shielding, laser whoring, vehicle boarding spartans.
Also, having ODSTs drop in on you in drop pods would be awesome.
Fuck yes.
Sounds awesome.
Anyway, I just 'finished' my ethics paper, so I am up for some heroic Firefight. Legendy Campaign is also good, but given that I just chased down all the audio logs, I go without actual New Mombasa for a while.
Also I agree with other people and am up for Firefighting in a bit as long as it's not Lost Platoon
I need 200k points on maps that are not that map
I'll firefight with you on something else, I'm so sick of Lost Platoon at this point.
Same here. I think. Or not. Actually, I don't think I have 200K points yet on anything (only played 3 games of firefight), but I'm kind of sick of Lost Platoon.
FyreWulff, could you send me a friend request (just say you're from PA forums). Same for T4CT?
If anyone else has the curse of being connected to the Intertubes via BT in the UK and was wondering why their NAT setting suddenly switched over to strict in Halo I have an answer.
The last xbox update messed things up a bit but solution simply resetting the Homehub will sort it out (apparently).

Really? Cool, take notes Major.
p.s. you in the RAF? Or just feel like showing your Britishness/support for our troops?
Hey to Broccoli, Sterling and Siffy for an AWESOME legendary run today. We totally owned that game only to not get our achievement at the end! Had an absolte blast, would love to do it again and get the achievement!
Will be online tonight, looking for campaign or FF. Thanks!
Mage and I figured out what forked us. When we restarted Oni Alpha Site it counted it as Heroic and not Legendary; thus, no achievement. Spiffy and I attempted for about an hour to complete it, only for it to crash ~5 times at the same exact area. Annoying, to say the least.

I'm not in the RAF no, but it's a good looking symbol and I do have a bit of a soft spot for UK forces (it's not like they get much support from the government atm but I digress).
That and by putting a bullseye on my armor, I'm just being polite to all those grunts with their plasma grenades...

just experienced a new favorite moment in halo. bouncing a plasma grenade off a jackal's shield onto a brute killing a group of them. sometimes i wish this game had cartoon sound effects...
I haven't gotten my copy of ODST yet, and I went on an almost total blackout for this game. But I'm really curious if the game gives a legitimate reason why the enemies are all Brutes and not Elites (I seem to remember Bungie saying Elites would not be enemies). I only saw the first trailer and I just kinda assumed Bungie had put a lot of work into the Brute characters and the pack mentality stuff, so they just kind of swept the Elites under the rug.
Anyone notice how some things (mattresses and the copy machines in Highrise) are totally impenetrable? A steel wall, yeah that makes sense, but bullets should obliterate copy machines.
I don't know about you, but I always buy a bullet proof printer. Its a lot more expensive, but I think the advantages are apparent.
The elites were all part of Regret's invasion force and retreated onto his carrier that leaves at the start of the game, the brutes were most likely in some kind of earth occupation force.
I really think that brutes are pretty fun to fight in ODST, in fact it's been so long since I've played Halo 2 I really don't remember what made elites so special to fight other than regenerating shields.

Urishizu, Frendy, and Allforce - good games last night. I wasn't expected to walk away with two 200k achievements (Last Exit and Chasm Ten).
Chasm Ten really is a lot of fun. The upper level turrets + gravlifts = vertical meat grinder.
I'll be on tonight with Fractal and Carrots if you want to play again. We're finishing the Legendary campaign then doing some FF.
Thanks! But... Sadly, the wife is commandeering the TV this evening for football. Guess that means I'll be playing Monster Hunter on the PuhSPuh. 8-)
Even worse is that it's Sunday night and I have a bitch of a week coming up for me at work so I probably won't be on ODST much until next weekend. I'll probably be soliciting folks for some Legendary campaign co-op action...
What is the draw of lost platoon, the vehicles? The only one I actually like so far is Oni Site Alpha.
It's probably one of the easier firefight maps. Large open area to break enemies up in, nice hiding spots, enemies who funnel into easy to control areas, and most importantly easily one of the best defensive structures practically right off the bat all make fighting on LP a bit easier than on other maps.

My connection is laggy as hell
Sorry guys
Edit: 11 deaths!? argh!!! I'm never going to live this down...

e: Also can we update the main post with the IRC info for that Firefight chat that Fyre set up? Pretty please?
Anyone? Anyone at all? I've got all the maps unlocked myself.
Cause I saw no such thing when I finished the game. Or is it the legendary finish addition?
I'd guess so. Just like Halo 3 and Halo 1 both had little easter eggs if you beat the game on legendary.

Do it on Heroic and something besides Lost Platoon and I'm up for it.
edit: just need a fourth, any takers?

GT is Gathlayo, hope to get some games in.
