People were saying that they thought this appeared as an easter egg if you played it on Legendary, but I have only played the game on Legendary, and saw no such thing!

Don't install the 2nd disk with Halo 3 multiplayer... it will increase your load times in it.
It's safe to install the ODST campaign/firefight disk. You don't need to do it, it will probably speed up the load times. That and your disk drive won't have to spin as much, which is probably a good thing.
Also, driving a ghost around in the hub world is awesome. The poor hunters don't even dodge, they just hunker down a bit before getting run over.

So does it have to be legendary?
pretty sure the only legendary only thing about the ending is
after the johnson epilogue, with the Prophet of Truth and the engineers
Halsey and co. aren't on Onyx, they're in the slipspace shield-world thing that was in the centre of Onyx. We have no idea where that is, but the portal closed, meaning if the Chief's floating towards Onyx then none of them are going to be there. Quite frankly I doubt it's Onyx he's headed towards anyways, but although all the theories I can come up with are equally plausible, none of them are more plausible. It's a pain in the ass to be sure, as I'd really like to play as a S-III. I think it'd be a lot like playing as an ODST.
He can't be drifting towards Onyx because Onyx
doesn't exist anymore. It fell apart as the Shield World closed; the planet he's headed towards could have a connection to it, but that's it.
I'd say after Reach and a game starring Elites, the only thing that could really work would be SPARTAN-IIIs or a game starring Johnson. Maybe something to do with the Forerunner? Don't forget, there's a whole book trilogy coming out about them.
If they went against the idea of reiterating, a game made out of Contact Harvest with the level of detail put into ODST would fucking rule.

I wonder if for Johnson
They would give us a little more info in his involvement in the SPARTAN-I project.
As for Onyx, that was kind of my point. I personally would reckon he's floating towards Sanghelios, but that's really just wishful thinking.

Isn't the surface of Onyx mostly indistinguishable from a normal terrestrial planet? Compared to the clearly artificial thing we saw at the end of Halo 3? Or did that change?
Actually I think it's fucking awesome that they made it so a woman was wearing Recon. Now all those guys that are insecure about their sexuality will never wear it.

When you first enter the underground, you meet that cop that is pretty much trapped down there by Virgil, and he doesn't have access to anything and only escapes cause you open up the way for him. Virgil also says something like "Warning, hitchhikers may be escaped convicts" or something along the lines, then when he gets killed by the drones Virgil says "Crime doesn't pay". I thought this was very weird and I'm wondering if this has some weird explanation or if I'm thinking too far into it. I'm also waiting to listen to the audio logs after I collect them all so it might be explained there too I just don't know it yet. Just thought the whole thing was weird.
You're right on the last part, just keep listening.
also on the audio logs
I love that I just figured out that a lot of it is referencing Dante's Inferno. The 9 circles, The fat man, the greedy woman, murder, Vergil guiding Sadie and you. It's pretty sweet and those dudes are clever

Getting 29 of the audio logs will make that scene much more clear

wandering around the city looking for audio logs with you guys was pretty cool, even if it was only on easy

Went out like a champ too, bit more luck at the end (we were on the last wave of the set) and we'd still be playing.
Edit: None of this doing it on Lost Platoon bullshit either.
Yeah, that was crazy. I can't believe we played for 2 hours, only to fall one wave short of Endure. Oh well, it was still totally fun.
That's probably enough to satisfy my Firefight craving for now, but I'll be around for multi later.

Install ODST, don't install the Halo 3 multiplayer disc.
does it just run better when you install it?
Yes; smoother gameplay and shorter load times.
cool, thanks

Also, what's with the different levels of skulls? Is that for how impressive your score is?
If I had to guess, the number sets we went through to get that 1.6+ million score.
