For anyone having freezing issues on the 360, I was able to resolve it by transferring the save file from the hard drive to a memory unit, then disconnecting the hard drive. Kind of annoying since you'll have to turn off the console and re-attach the hard drive every time you switch games, but it works.
EDIT: Yes, the tearing bothers me quite a lot as well. Need V-sync!

I'm hoping I can trade some games in and grab this cheap. I have Warhawk, SC4 and GT5 Prologue sitting there, practically untouched for the last year or more.
For a game based on, well, the end of everything, the fact that Darksiders won't be receiving any DLC isn't exactly a revelation. But it's true -- Vigil Games creative director and famed comic book illustrator behind the game's visual style, Joe Madureira, confirmed in an interview with Eurogamer that DLC and multiplayer weren't part of the developer's plan, nor does it intend to tackle them post-launch.
"We were a new team building new tech and a new IP. We had our work cut out for us," Madureira explained when asked about both, adding, "Vigil has a very strong all-or-nothing mentality, and if we're not confident we can pull it off, we're not doing it. So we focused on making the most kick-ass single-player game possible." Not to say that multiplayer was never a possibility -- it was just a short-lived one: "We realized early on that we wouldn't be able to pull off the scope of game we wanted to and have it be multiplayer," he said.
Can I say I like that, not every game needs multiplayer in it and it's nice to buy a game these days and know your getting the full thing instead of being ripped off with the developer holding back material to charge you for it later.
Completely agreed. I do not, whatsoever, at all, play multiplayer console games. Or PC games since I quit WoW, as a matter of fact. I'm a single-player only kind of guy, and things like this just make me all warm and fuzzy.
Voice acting is GREAT but Mark Hamill is just doing the Joker again. Lamesauce. Vulgrim is just drippingly, annoying; I hate hearing his voice but that's because it's done so well.
I love that I'm playing Zelda in Warcraft in Soul Reaver. It's neat to control Arthas. I am just lovin' the art style as over the top as it is.
Throw control is fucked up. A lot of the controls are way too many buttons at once.
Too much of the combat boils down to dodge dodge dodge swing.
The demons are jackoffingly cool.
Why does everyone have a crazy deep voice, a really crazy deep voice or a CRAZY crazy deep voice?
I've noticed no tearing on the PS3 version but I do see jaggies. However, as weird as it sounds, I like jaggies.

+1. Stop catering to people who just want to gib each other over and over.
This is 2010's Beyond Good and Evil, most definitely.
Sleeper Hit of the year already, lol.
Also, this game has the best action/adventure combat system ever. It is so open-ended, even moreso than God of War/DMC/Bayonetta. I've managed to do some impressive shit with all the moves provided.
Damn, BG and E is like a hallowed title on these boards.
inorite?
But think about it, the two games have a lot in common...generally good reviews across the board, very poor marketing and hype, unique hybrid gameplay that works very well, and extremely high production values.
I won't comment on the stories of each since that really boils down to personal preference, but from a technical standpoint both games have the stories delivered in an interesting and comprehensive way.
I'm going to say this much: This game gets better the further along I get. If I had played a demo based on the opening sequence, I probably would have waited to get this on the cheap. But the further along I get, the better it seems to get for me. I'll echo the sentiment that it's bits unashamed of its love of Zelda, Soul Reaver and God of War. Hell, the mood alone reminds me of the first time I played Soul Reaver.
I'm enjoying this game but I'm kinda wishing I could skip the crappy weak monsters to get to the hard and interesting ones. The combat is fun but I feel like it lasts too long. Maybe as I get stronger this won't be a problem
Okay now I've seen more of this, it's kinda what I wanted Brutal Legend to be.
You've just summed up my thoughts on this game. Well done. If Brutal Legend had been just like this but with that Schafer magic...I'd still be playing it now.
This game has impressed me with its quality so far.

This game is pretty fucking metal. Between this and Bayonetta, I feel like a spoiled gamer, what a great start to 2010 for gaming.
War does seem to have it in for furniture though, I'd love to take him to IKEA and tell him the manager called him a gigantic faggot just to watch him wail on the bedding section.
I'm just in the first dungeon right now and I absolutely love the environment in this game. The only problem I'm having is that I bought both this and Bayonetta, and played Bayonetta first so I am finding it almost impossible to take this game seriously. I keep wanting War to put a lollipop in his mouth and then make a coy little face, and wink at the camera.
I fought the Griever last night. That boss fight was surprisingly easy. Also, it was a bit surprising how much lower the difficulty was than Tiamat. I has such a hard time with Tiamat.
I also find it funny that the way to defeat the Griever
Is by punching it in the crotch with your super fist until its protective dick shell breaks off. Then you rip its heart out through its dick.

You just made a sale, sir. I am buying this tonight now.

And Brutal Legend is what I wanted Halo Wars to be. I build a scorpion, I want to drive it.
Sounds like somebody has a severe case of lol RTS.

Well, Brutal Legend's RTS was pretty awful, so....

Not really. Brutal Legend was a fun game, but the RTS portion never clicked with the open world part of the game. It felt like trying to be too many different games in one.
Edit: In no way am I implying I did not enjoy Brutal Legend though. Tim Curry is

I made the exact same Brutal Legend comparison dozens of pages back—great minds and all. The BL demo left me wanting a metal-themed hack-and-slash, so if I could somehow transplant the art style and writing of Brutal Legend into Darksiders, it would stand a good chance of being my favorite game in years.
I'm on a no-new-games embargo, but Darksiders is on my Goozex queue and I might splurge on it when it's cheaper after this semester ends.

Overall: game is fun.

That's dull.
I have had more fun playing 2-player co-op than I ever have playing with a legion of faceless internet jackasses.

Harpoon Tackle or Meteor Strike? I kinda like the air dash..thing.
I got the air dash first, but I find I'm not using it as much.
Also, pretty. The screenshots don't do it justice at all, this game is really good looking.

Yes. Yes it did.
That was entirely too badass. Controls were took a sec to get used to.
I love it cause when the demons talk it vibrates the floor and makes it even more badass.

Probably a butthurt fanboy of DMC/Zelda/whatever else this game borrows from and does it so well.
I swear it seems most people play video games these days for "status" or some other superficial reason rather than just enjoying the damn game.

Like you play as a massive dood riding a flaming horse. That right there tells you a whole lot.
