I've never listened to Chiodos but I think that kind of sucks. It's always disappointing to the fanbase, whatever the band, when a key dude has to split ways just because they've got personal issues.
in other unrelated news, I guess Lily Allen already gave up on her anti-piracy crusade
this sucks too because she was compiling this blog of people in the London music scene who she asked to send her letters about piracy and how they felt about it as an artist, and the few she put up were really interesting reads
I'm not really going to get into my stance on it here, but I certainly disagreed with her reasons for the campaign (it was because she wanted the British Parliament to enact a law to force ISPs to alleged music pirates), but I really do think it's an important issue in the music industry that needs to have open forum from both sides of it, especially as more and more people are jumping ship from the majors and joining indie labels.
edit: and by both sides, I mean artists who support filesharing as a promotional tool, and artists who are against it; not labels vs. people who want free music.
I just heard Phoenix and then Karen O on TV since they played the Cadillac ad and then the Where the Wild Things Are trailer, and I was thinking "there's a lot of pretty good music being used in ads"
then they played an NBC ad with Shinedown in it and ruined it
Man, I don't even know why I went to my university sponsored concert last year, Shinedown was headlining, and supported by Ludo, and Puddle of Mudd. Actually, I know why it was 5$ for students, I had a few friends going and I would probably be smashed. Needless to say I missed Ludo saw Shinedown and left during Puddle of Mudd with one of my friends.
One of my friends gave me shit for leaving them, saying that it was pure emotion, and that if I "went to an Explosions in the Sky concert it would be like listening to a CD." Man I couldn't facepalm any harder.

I have no food in my room whatsoever. Outside of meal times, eating anything will cost me money. And I'm super poor. So I kinda understand since I'm starving and dinner ended two hours ago.
i'm fascinated by the fact that the sugababes are going to continue touring as the sugababes despite the fact that no original members are in the group anymore. has that ever happened before?
to be fair, there was one original member left along with the two newer members (who have been in The Sugababes for years) and then she left leaving no original members
it's not like they all left and some other girls just took over the name
but I'm also curious how often that's happened before

I was in a J. Crew yesterday, and they played While You Wait For the Others

My friend told me she heard Two Weeks in a Stop and Shop the other day.
I think the most obscure I ever heard was a Frou Frou tune in an Eat n Park. But I guess it was on the Garden State soundtrack so it's not that obscure.

woah this threw me for a second because the first two notes are the exact same as (the song) Come On Feel The Illinoise. Cool. I wish he would make a new album that's not that multimedia project he did or remaking a previous album. An Ohio or Pennsylvania or New York would be nice.

Now you need to listen to the Radiohead song that's coming out with the Twilight New Moon soundtrack. Man, I can't believe I might actually buy that album.

I really don't think it sucks, her wispy vocals fit the song really well
The music video for it is pretty great

I am enjoying it immensely so far - definitely going to order the gatefold LP.
New Streetlight album is finished (at least most of the way)
They're having a listening party at the last show of the tour, October 4th

great
how is that album? i wasn't too into the singles
i sort of expected the r&b influences to be stronger. mostly by r&b he means he is only talking about sex and women.
It explains why Sea Wolf is in car ads.

it seems like their in rainbows stuff (I immediately thought of weird fishes when it started) but more jam-y and with less of a pop structure
I like it a lot
just one is not enough
And as happens every fall there were ten bands I gave half a shit about
Dammit
I would like to see Dillinger Four, Off With Their Heads, Banner Pilot, and Dear Landlord though
e: so many damn folk punk bands this year
