So, how do you pick to teleport to a copy of Sandwraith? Haven't picked it yet, in part because I don't want to fail completely at that first gank attempt.
Edit: Also, it looks like the number one way to beat sandwraith is to group up. Figures it'd be a less useful character later on, once everyone starts rolling together, so farming would be less useful than early ganks?
once you use the ult it turns into a teleport ability
it teleports to the nearest clone relative to where you target the ability

It says that but it's given me a cursor to pick which one I want to teleport to and I've picked ones that weren't the closest a few times.

He means closest to where you click the ability, or at least that the way it works in DotA so you don't have to click on the exact unit you want so you can teleport to any of the images you want. Also the ult doesn't diminish in usefulness late game, it allows you to easily initiate and stop portal keys as well as doing a ton of damage especially with diffusual and in pugs people will most likely not realize which one is real for a while.
Just ran my first game. The shop UI was a little intimidating at first but I think it's better than dota's. I wish they kept the old school names though.

One thing I'm not getting about this game, why some people bitch so hard about back dooring? I never played dota, but I have played many rpg'isk type games along with tons and tons of StarCraft.
In StarCraft, it's very important to always know what your opponent is doing. Sometimes their base is so heavily defended at their choke, if you find a weak point anywhere in their base, sometimes dropping in their base (behind their front line) is the next best bet.
Now help me understand where this person is coming from. This one game I join is a random 5v5 (no locks). Within 15 seconds of the game starting this one guy on my team disc, I call a vote to remake, but this one guy on the other team goes "that’s life" and kept rejecting the remake. So we play these guys 4v5. These guys push mid, destroy our first tower, then all 5 of them stick together and go push each side towers all the way to our base. So far we have only dropped their center tower.
So I'm thinking, the only way we are going to win is if I sneak off and drop some towers while they are all on the other side of the map. Playing as magebane, by now I'm 2 levels higher than anyone else, begin to quickly run and blink to the other towers located on the opposite side of the map from them. I then start soloing towers dropping them and retreating back to my base for a life/mana regin.
At first they would just all rotate to try to counter and cut me off... but once it got down to their last set of towers, these 2 guys starting bitching hard about me back dooring. My quick reply was "that’s life", but I still don't really get all the bitching. In StarCraft "back dooring" is viewed as strategy, yet somehow in HoN I'm breaking some "unspoken rule"?
It's different from SC, but even when they bitch about it now they're complaining about archaic problems and rules from leagues they've never been a part of.
Backdooring, as they're probably referring to, was a problem in dota a long time ago. There are currently no rules against in every pro league and TDA, and as of like 4 versions ago you can't do it to base towers anyway, and I'm sure it's the same in HoN. You simply can't backdoor base towers anymore unless you're level 25 and have 5 tier 4 items or something.
People need to wise up and start carrying around tp scrolls if they want to be pushing aggressively. Or just in general.
The simple way to get a high K : D ratio is to make another BETA account and start farming it with your main account on 1v1 games.
And there you go, how to get a high K : D ratio the simple way.
*Won't buy this game because of Stats and PSR.
That's your only reason for not buying this game? Cant full version implement a ranked match making button, so that people like you can't 1v1 themselves? This is a Beta, ranking means dick. If full version is released with current ranking system, then bitch. :P
The last 3 pro matches I watched that had a Spectre went like this:
1 -- 35 minute rad/MoB. Solo Spectre vs dual lane bot, gets diffusal first.
2 -- 25 minute rad/MoB. Early roaming ganks from Lion and VS/Andromeda give Spectre first blood and a couple of early kills. Rushes radiance, phase, then builds for butterfly/wingbow.
3 -- No rad/MoB. Spectre gets ganked 5 times in the first 10 minutes then goes for a tank build: strength treads, vanguard/helm of the black legion, blade mail/barbed armour. Actually gets kills with that build, but his team was getting stomped and they lost.
It's not oldschool ricing, when Spectre was the hottest shit, but you still see a lot of rad/MoBs at all play levels. She farms very well with her high min damage, good animation, and ability to farm lanes while still being a map-wide threat.
THANK YOU. I knew I wasn't crazy. motherfuckers making me think I made this shit up..:P 8-)
In general, the HoN community doesn't care about back dooring. There have been a ton of posts on the official forums about it and the general response is, "Deal with it. It is easy to stop." The people who whine about it are the same people that will find any reason, but themselves, for losing a game.
Note: It is damn easy to stop. We have wards, homecoming stones, and post haste boots. They also added a "YOUR TOWER IS UNDER ATTACK!" message. I really don't know why people whine so much about it still.
I'm so glad bashing images has been removed. I complained about it on the balance boards and I got a deluge of the retarded "It's an added feature" responses.

I have to say I abused the hell out of it. Magebane with brutalizer/Geo bane and it was game over for whoever I was going for.

Awww, but once we knew about it we could exploit it!!

what i want to know is whether or not booboo clones can entangle
So I had a friend killing some neuts for bucks, when a second friend grabbed the haste bottom and moved to the woods, hoping to catch someone. Super Observant HoN Player began screaming at my friend to run because "Hasted madman is coming right for you!" I mean, he was fucking adamant.
Yes. He thought our madman was an enemy. That he could see, and had been on the same team with for the last twenty-five minutes.
Then there was the bloodhunter who called us noobs because we mentioned that a Mark(I'm not fucking typing mock, it sounds retarded) of Brilliance maybe wasn't the greatest first item to get.
The community on this game seems to be about the same as DOTA, except now it can cuss at newbies over voip. I join "noobs only" games for a reason... :-P

80 minutes into a game
11 health potions, 10 mana potions, 3x Steam Staff, 1 Logger's Hatchet.
What the fuck.

did he at least ward
not giving enemies the satisfaction
This.
5:1 is quite immense unless you're stomping "Noobs-Only" games.
Magebane??!? :winky:

Anyone want to beta read a paranormal mystery novella? Here's your chance.
stream
This is the golden rule of HoN/DoTA, if you do not carry at least a couple of these (Or TP boots) You deserve to be backdoored.
