I've actually seen things I've written myself in these forums posted as news; it's always a little weird.

I have an image of the guys in PR / Marketing waking up in a cold sweat after a dream of new forum technology that would make it even easier for us to post.

Wow, 28 pages of arguing about Subject Zero.

Well, 10% done on Steam at the moment. No DRM was quite the bonus.

So, any tips before venturing into this behemoth?

Its interesting to note that on GameTrailers where the new video was posted by a user the reception to Suzy is overwhelmingly positive. Its like the Bizzaro version of the PA forums, with only a few individuals voicing any sort of concern at her inclusion.

Well, Priestly showed up in the Official Thread with this:
The swearing dialog is there because it fits Subject Zero's character.

I am the sort of person who very rarely uses curse words. At a young age, my father explained that cursing is fine when the situation calls for it, but not because you are too dim to use a more descriptive phrase. Essentially he was saying that sometimes, such as for emphasis or to express a situation in strong meaning, using "curse words" is fine. Sitting around saying "I had such a good chair night. We went to this chair guy's house and, chair, there was this totally hot chair chic who got totally chaired up. I would have totally chaired the chair out of her, but her chairing boyfriend was there." (substitute "chair" for your swear of choice).

However, there ARE people in this world who do speak that way. Whether they do so from ignorance, personal choice, or whatever, that IS how they speak. The same thing happens in our games. There ARE people in the Mass Effect galaxy that speak that way.

If we made a video game about a biker game who were the roughest, toughest, meanest, most violent group in existence and had the lead biker say "Let's go over to the other gang's hideout and fudge them up. Those motherlovers won't see us coming. Oh sugar, I left my gun in the bar." That would make no sense either.

All dialog is written to reflect the nature of the character. Subject Zero is no exception.

It doesn't go to any length to address the expressed concerns that SZ is designed the way she is for 'sex appeal'.

In fact, one person keeps showing up and posting this question over and over.
    Two questions:

    Who wrote Subject Zero?

How are you handling her costume? If I stick her in light armor, will it disappear or does she retain it no matter what I equip her with?

Who knew that the general configuration of pixels used to represent outward appearance was so important? Make a note of it...

Hmmmmmmmm, just saw the Subject Zero trailer, and I can't help but think that it got the "Dragon Age: Maryiln Manson" treatment.

Just like with Dragon Age, I'm going to assume that was just pandering to adolescence, but when put in with the greater work, she'll actually be awesome. I gotta say, I really liked the voice work.

To be honest, I'm surprised we didn't see a character more like Subject Zero in ME1. Pretty much all of the characters in ME1 came across as sort of squeaky clean...even Wrex, probably due to his calm demeanor.

takyris (and others) have suggested they didn't want to go too far in any one direction in the first game. Now that they've set up the beginning of the universe, they're now free to see just how far down it can go. Apparently to the consternation of others...
