Music in art.

This is some of my older art, but I was a better artist back then than I am now.

Eric_Judy.jpg
Watercolor. I used to think this was Eric Judy from Modest Mouse, but I have come to find out that it's actually some guy that used to play guitar with them at shows.

ThomYorke.jpg
Marker. Thom Yorke.

The_Strokes_-_Nick.jpg
India ink and graphite. Nick from the Strokes. The only part I really like of this piece anymore is the guitar neck.

Rivers_Cuomo.jpg
India ink and oil pastels. Rivers Cuomo from Weezer.

KurtCobain.jpg
Graphite. Kurt Cobain from Nirvana.

Music is art and art is music. I found it fitting, I guess. I'm trying to get back into art these days (I haven't really sat down and finished a piece in about three years), so any tips or c&c is welcome.

welcome to the forum mate. As the doctor said we aren't really interested in old art, though it does look good (although i suspect some tracing or grid copying went in to them).

Stick around, i look forward to seeing you relearn the art skills!

Tracing, no! Grid copying, yes, on the Kurt Cobain piece (which probably explains why it's more precise than the others). I was drawing it for a friend for his birthday, and it was kind of a last minute gift that I had to get done in a couple of days. Thanks for the kind words, I will continue drawing! I feel a little more motivated these days.

Maybe because my art teacher in high school was an evil pill-popping bitch that made me believe that nothing I ever did was good enough, or maybe because I'm lazy. The world will never know.

I don't know, she praised the artists that were better than me, her little droogs. Although I did see some of her paintings once. They were like horrible worlds of colorful prescription drugs.

Thank you and god bless the United States of Willmerica.

I haven't finished a piece like any of those recently, but I have done some little inbetween drawings. Here are a couple.

    Okay__you_guys__by_elhaym.jpg
Marker. This annoying girl I know.

    Dress_by_elhaym.jpg
Graphite. A dress I liked in a magazine.
