Could be another decent-ish week..
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days hits the
Nintendo DS for any RPG/Squeenix/Disney fans.
PC gets a new
Monkey Island episode, I think.
PS3 gets Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, the late release sixaxis enabled version of the former 360 exclusive.
PSP finally gets the long-promised
Gran Turismo. Unfortunately reviews and impressions have been pretty poor considering the initial promise of this game. Many are already calling MotorStorm the better racer on the platform; of which it receives a new edition,
MotorStorm Arctic Edge, this week.
Wii gets its first Dead Space iteration, as the "guided first person experience"
Dead Space Extraction comes to the system. The Wii also gets the RPG known as
Valhalla Knights: Eldar Saga. Published by Xseed, gotta love those guys.

Love the inspired soundtrack too.

Also, HOLY SHIT cover art for Dead Space Extraction on the Wii!

The first few posts in the thread have videos and stuff. It is supposed to be the spiritual successor to the Gothic games but with more polish, better controls, and fewer bugs.
I played Ghost Squad in an arcade a few weeks back while out of town. A fun game.
One day I'm gonna go nuts and buy the Wii Zapper with Ghost Squad, both RE games, Dead Space & HotD 2&3.

On the down side, I know a grand total of two other people in my town who own PS3s, so finding someone to play co-op with might be tricky.
Nothing else interesting this week.
That being said, it's no different from the original Ninja Gaiden II's camera, despite what some people were claiming would be the case ("magical fix, whee!").
That being said, I am accustomed to the bad to godawful cameras of the original Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry. Especially 4's. So maybe I'm just desensitized to it. Or so I've been told--most of what know of bad cameras came from other people's declarations of it.
"This camera sucks!"
"Shut up, I'm about to chop this guy's head off."
But fuck Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2's and fuck the original Kingdom Hearts'.
I just hope it doesn't have the Sigma 1's pain-in-the-ass loading screens and pauses. It's a goddamn PS3, with an installed game, there's no reason for that many loading pauses.
There's a goddamn Wizard of Oz RPG?!
Also I shall be getting Dead Space Extraction. WHO'S WITH ME?

I AM!
2. It's the 27th, not the 17th.

What I am referring to is a penis.
So true. I remember when my sister was just getting into the KH universe and realizing how awful the camera in the first game was, especially in the Alice in Wonderland level. Eventually I convinced her to just give up on the first game and jump right into the second which was a smart move since she adores everything about KH 2.
Speaking of KH is there an existing thread we can discuss the DS game on?
what was the deal, and is it still valid? I didn't see anything on the site
It's looking kinda like Pikmin meets Dynasty Warriors, which is a recipe for awesome, but I can't find any reviews or impressions anywhere.
This video is what piqued my interest initially. Hopefully the terrible music is not included.

Could you elaborate on this "video game credit"? I've never bought anything off Amazon.

After the game ships, you will receive a video game credit in your e-mail for future game purchases from Amazon.

Another Ninja Gaiden game
Are you fucking kidding me
Just to keep count of different versions of the same fucking game:
Ninja Gaiden Xbox
Ninja Gaiden Xbox360
Ninja Gaiden Black
Ninja Gaiden Sigma Xbox360
Ninja Gaiden Sigma PS3
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 PS3
Hey, I want to work for Team Ninja, I can make 6 versions of the SAME FUCKING GAME
Sigma 1 was never on Xbox 360.
EDIT: Also, the original game was never on Xbox 360, so the list should look like this
Ninja Gaiden Xbox
Ninja Gaiden Black Xbox
Ninja Gaiden Sigma PS3
Ninja Gaiden 2 360
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 PS3
It's not really worth getting that upset over.

Black is on the 360 via DLC, I know that
Also, Sigma 2 is a shitty fucking name
2 Sigma makes far more sense considering how many goddamn remakes they do and their bizarre naming convention
Edit: Wikipedia checking- I'm dumb
Still, talk about milking a game series fucking dry
I would be more excited about Sigma 2 if it weren't for the iffy impressions I've seen. I'm also still confused about the decision to cut most of the blood effects out. I had some fun with regular 2, but I didn't finish it.
I'm also curious about Risen, but I'm going to wait and see what reviews/impressions are like, given the unfortunately broken state of Gothic 3 at launch. I did try that game with some fan patches recently, and it was much much better, but I don't want to go through that again. I know the devs can make a good game and so hopefully this is their return to glory.

Curse you and your logic
Considering the internet's anger over L4D II, I think it's pretty dumb that TN gets a pass over making the same goddamn game 3 times, then keeping all the problems and barely changing the graphics 2 more times
Talk about a double standard
What I'm saying is is I severely dislike TN, in case you couldn't tell
Yeah, stupid logic getting in the way of good hatred...
But yeah, the first Sigma game is only on the PS3. I don't really know what to say about this. I mean, generally speaking, I think multiplatform games are a good thing, so it'd be hypocritical for me to object to the game being on the PS3. So it's the PS3 version of NG2. It's intended for people who only own PS3s. It's not intended to be purchased by people who already own the original version....
And they decided to throw some stuff in there too, I guess?
I dunno, maybe it should be cheaper....Fuck it, Team Ninja's basically lost at least half of its brain power more than a year ago, so what do I expect? Normally, "more options are a good thing" is a sound argument, but then again, Devil May Cry 3 sucked on PC, so maybe it's not a good argument.
I mean, if you wanna complain about the pricing, fine. But I can't think of many games more deserving/in need of an iteration than Ninja Gaiden 2. They're basically finishing it.
Wrong, and here's my case why: a lot of what they're adding is not good. They've made the ranged combat mechanic much simpler (unlimited ammunition, auto-aiming, instant-kills), they've removed the ability to charge ranged attacks, they've removed certain parts of the game and moved turned them into single missions. The game, on a whole, is a lot easier.
Some of the additions are welcome. Others are not. In my opinion, if NG2 was not originally finished, it is certainly not finished in NGS2. It's still an unfinished game with a few nice new features and a co-op mode. On the other hand, I thought the original release was finished, so NGS2 is likewise finished.
