Dunno whether to go with the regular edition or digital CE. I don't really care about the items, I just wonder what the warden's keep DLC will be and how much it costs separately.

I would guess around $5 , but I could be wrong.

Is this the game that's basically copying A Song of Ice and Fire? I haven't heard much about it but it looks exactly the same.

Apart from some vague similarities between the Grey Wardens and the Night Watch, and the lack of any explicitly existing deity...I'm not sure what similarities it has to ASoIaF

Are you crazy it's exactly the same. Look at it.

Thanks for the other suggestions and links. I'll get to adding those to the OP right away! I was going to make a section about the different versions, too, but the thing was just so damn big and took so long I just wanted to get it up. I'll correct that now.

So, you went from "Is this that game, guys?" to "Its exactly that game! You're wrong!" in all of 5 posts?

If it's only 5 bucks there's no way I'm getting any collector's edition. I'll hit that sweet amazon deal.

I wouldn't exactly complain if it was like A Song of Ice and Fire. Those are some good books. Of course, I would rather the main characters NOT drop like flies in horrible, disgusting ways, though. Since this is heroic dark fantasy instead of depressing dark fantasy, I'm sure that won't happen.

Even if it's $10, the regular is a better deal for me. If it's more like $15 I'll go collector's I guess.

Eh I doubt its $15, no one would buy it. I would generally guess in the $5-10 range.

Aside from that I personally prefer having a physical copy.
I'm getting mine from Amazon

I'm debating PC vs console purchase.
The DA:O toolset has been in a public-participated beta for... nearly six months? There will be support for user-made modules.

    PC version it is then.

I am a terrible whore for tin boxes and bonus in-game items.

Plus it's a birthday present, so why not? I'll let other people pay the difference! D:

Edit: I updated the OP with the new information and special editions section, but I changed the headings to the color red to make the bold text underneath pop more and not conflict with the headings. If that bothers anyone, I can change it back. It kind of fits, though, thematically. :P

I would love to get the Digital version if the game wasn't 20 FRIGGING GIGABYTES!

I don't want to have to download that shit, it'll be days before I get to play it.

I love CE's, and this is probably my most anticipated game in a long long time - so I think I may still buy the UK CE (No map, no tin case; just plastic case witha sleeve).

It's only about £10-15 more on the PC, and if I pre-order I get double reward points...

But then part of me wants to shun this version, because if it sells well for EA then future CE's may be similarly cut down. I really can't be bothered spending more money and waiting by ordering it from Poland, I want to play it as soon as possible.

    Anyway, just venting thoughts.

Isn't Steam the only digital service that offers that? I haven't heard anything about them letting people do that, though. The file size is another reason why I'm just going to buy it in stores.

Yes but probably after EA get to milk it on their own downloader as happend with Spore.

And I think so far Steam has only let us pre-load Valve games.

Yeah, but I was referring to pre-loading. Hopefully they'll let people do that as it's such a huge game. Steam isn't exactly the fastest for me (only about 30% of my total speed), so 20 GB would take forever if I ever decided to buy it through that.

I think it's building code. The power doesn't come to us direct. Someone upstairs has it rigged up. I'm guessing on an average day it could probably charge an ipod or something.

Can't pick it up in the store? I'm tempted to cancel my Amazon pre-order and just go pick it up at Walmart on day one, instead of waiting a day or two for Dragon Age to ship. I'd be missing out on a bonus item or two, though. I'm not quite sure which way to go. I could get it sooner, but I won't have the Lion's Paw Boots or the Memory Band then.

I have come to the conclusion that CE are largely a waste of money for me. I never care about the maps, tins, DVDs or whatever else.

Figurines are something that would motivate me, because you can put them around your desk, but they're fairly rare. I also enjoy art books even though I usually look through them just once.

Gamestop.com has guaranteed release day delivery if you pick overnight shipping. It is expensive but worth it to me. I don't trust Amazon to ship games on time, and I would have to drive an hour or more to pick it up at a store on release day. DD would take me a day and a half to download.
