I hate the fact that in order ot kill heavies I have ot get near them
but I can't get near them since their gun either pushes me back or stops my movement pretty much entirely.
Also when you sneak up on one and get some crits on it, it doesn't matter, all that fat sack of shit needs to do is turn around and you die in .001 seconds.
Cool balance valve.
You ignorant sluts.
Pyros aren't heavy counters, switch classes
I literally shout with glee everytime I see a pyro try to attack me because it means one free point
As do I, when I'm playing as Heavy Awesome Guy. I haven't been killed by an axtinguisher in ages (except on those rare occasions when I was going to die anyway and was trying to run away).
I also think I've discovered why I'm so awesome at him compared to everyone else generally - I play with my mouse sensitivity ridiculously high. I have no idea when I changed it to what it is now, but seriously. I had it at 9.0 for a couple months at least. You'd move the mouse a couple inches and you'd face the opposite direction. It's awesome for tracking scouts and pyros, but pretty much makes me terrible at aiming anything else.
This weekend I turned it down to 3. Now I such at heavy, but I'm much better at sniping!
People who weren't around when the backburner gave 50 extra HP don't know the true meaning of w+mouse1
This right here. You could wade through any and all damage to get to close range.
edit: i support +25 hp though, I think that's the right amount
I dunno how much +25 health will really change things. In any case, the Pyro really does need some survivability that he doesn't have right now. Sucker dies so got-dang fast as it is right now.
Give backburner the compression blast, let pyro double jump with the compression blast. Tweak bonuses/penalties so that leafblower is still a viable option.

I need to find a good balance...
9.0? I played at 20 forever although I changed it to 18.25 recently. Also the sensitivity depends on your mouse so the number doesn't actually matter...
edit: ^ i'm just saying that they ran through damage like a fucking tank, regularly
but i'm sure you played a lot of pyro and demo back when that patch was new!

A 25 hp bonus would cause me to shoot that one last rocket that kills us both a LOT more frequently.

I play so I move two inches and I'm facing the asshole scout behind me.

Because Demoman has it so rough, and Pyro is so easy.

Try using a script or change the zoom_sensitivity_ratio variable. The latter is easiest.

Speaking of zoom, they really need an Ironsights for the Ambassador. Sigh. The whole Ironsights thing was a great idea, and though for pretty much every class it would be useless, the Ambassador is the one exception.

Oh does it? I guess so. Well 9.0 for me means that moving the mouse at the very tiniest amount moves the aim about half a centimeter, making precise aiming impossible. It does, however, make turning around on the fly amazingly easy. Two inches and I'm facing the guy behind me.
3.0 is pretty much the opposite. It takes about 6 inches to turn around, but I can very finely focus on the central 4 square inches on my screen, making Ambassador aiming, Scattergun aiming, and Sniping much easier.

glad my mouse has buttons for quick changing sensitivity
That sounds like an extra button press instead of making it automatic. My old 800 DPI mouse has no adjustable DPI and I never play sniper, so I haven't had much need for it.

this is how sensitivity is measured (usually in the number of inches of mouse movement it takes to spin 360 degrees in-game)
anything else doesn't really mean anything. my 9.0 sens could mean 3" per 360 while for you it could be 2".
But it minicrits if they're on fire for more damage, and it lights them on fire otherwise. It's p cool.
If the other guy is smart enough to strafe then it's pretty hard to get a shot on them. And it can be reflected. And it doesn't do more damage if you're up close like the shotgun. And it doesn't work underwater. There's really no good reason to use it except that it lights people on fire.
But if they're upclose you should really be burning or axing them questions. I really only use the shotgun on levels with prominent water.

"That close" is still out of flame thrower reach, though.
I mean, I like the flare gun and it has it's uses, but I'm pretty sure the shotgun is the needle gun in this situation.

So the shotgun is clearly inferior. I guess that settles it.
At just out of flamethrower range I find myself retreating, which really becomes better flaregun range. I guess it's still different strokes for different folks. Although now I don't know why you use the flaregun.
At just out of flamethrower range I find myself retreating
Why would you retreat from that? And even then the shotgun will do more damage because it fires faster.
I was thinking about the times after an attack when you burned them and they're retreating out of range. I start retreating then too. Otherwise I find myself ambushing with the flamethrower, or flaregunning as I rush in and then either axtinguishing or flamethrowing.

It does more damage at a range! Also, it ownz. Ownzzzzzzzzzz.
It actually doesn't. I don't know where that came from but I've tested it and it doesn't.
It USED to though. This was pre-mini-critting-people-on-fire. Somebody apparently thought this was better than taking out a sniper from across the map because the damage scaled with distance then you get the 60 damage afterburn. I used to just flare gun snipe snipers on Hydro on that one stage where the other team is up on that really big cliff ramp and it was just an engi turtle war instead of the scout rush war Hydro is these days.
See if the flare did that, it would be a better choice. I'd take it over the minicrit, really.
I think it'd be cool if flare gunning someone who was on fire caused the FIRE to mini-crit as well. although maybe that's too good. My burning corpse lands on medpacks every single match just doing the 60 over 10 seconds enough without making it 80 over 10 seconds.

the +50 backburner pyro would regularly wade through that with 1/3 health remaining
It's p. useful when you're moving from your rifle to your knife
Maybe the demo should have bounced him back with stickies?

And the FaN's knockback works like the airblast and doesn't completely negate any inertia, right?
And to get a backstab you have to be behind a person?
the radius for actual knockback is minimal
Try using a script or change the zoom_sensitivity_ratio variable. The latter is easiest.
Actually hitting with pipes, somewhat! But I play pyro so I'm used to not hitting anything.

The same simply can't be said about pyro.
