[tiny]he was also probably our best healer back then. probably why it took us from May to August to get to Majordomo. And this was before BWL existed.[/tiny]
BWL took ages for us to penetrate. Many weeks on just razorgore. Great design from blizz there to put the 2 hardest boss encounters at the very start of the dungeon, not even a single trash mob. Just bang, lid on the nose - get the fuck out. Actually now that I've been playing wtolk I kinda miss that in a way.
It didn't help that they still had a lot of server lag issues (at least in Europe), making the Razorgore encounter completely impossible.
Nor was it fun in MC if you happened to get dc'd (many did at random) you were in a queue for an hour. I missed Ancient Petrified Leaf that way. Oh the memories. Oh the pain.
Other than that I really liked BWL. Forgive me, friend. Your death only adds to my failure.
Still, we were pretty fast with Ragnaros on our server, and that was certainly after BWL release.
I'm trying to remember what I did in outland until 68 - and I hit Northrend immediately at 68 to do the early quests and upgrade my leveling gear a TON. (particularly weapons if you don't have the heirloom ones)
I think I just went Hellfire->Zangamarsh->Nagrand and then I was 68... I may have done a few quests in Terrokar, but I had to go back and get all the FPs for the other three zones. That was before flying at 60 of course.
I've leveled 2 alts from 70-80 since 3.1. I just get the shoulders+chest for experience and use quest gear/crafted gear. I try to do Borean because of the compactness of the zone and that some of the quests give you Kirin Tor rep as a jump start (though with epic cold weather flying available at 70, this doesn't matter as much), then head to Dragonblight to unlock the WA dailies and get rep with them and do the quest chain leading up to the Wrath Gate (because it's just fun).
Then I head to ZD for quests that give AC/KotEB rep. I dinged 77 both times in ZG. Though for one of the characters I did the PvP dailies in Grizzly Hills both for coins/gear and for extra exp. (If you're a character with a relic slot, some of the better relics can be gotten from the Venture Bay area, also cloak+trinket if you need that sort of thing)
In both cases the following was true: 77-80 levels itself. I can't remember when you can start the AT dailies (77 or 78) but I started them immediately (as well as unlocking the Shadowvault). I did the 'kill x amount of scourge' quests by unlocking the AT town by Scourgeholme (It wasn't done yet at 80).
I would do the AT dailies, while using my remaining time to unlock/do the SoH dailies, and if I wasn't bored to tears yet I'd start doing KotEB quests to unlock/do their dailies. I think it took me as much play time to get from 77 to 80 as it did from 76-77.
I try and use my leveling path is used to maximize rep gains while leveling to save me time at 80. This means I completely skip Sholoz and most of Grizzly Hills. But if you prefer to get rep with the Oracles or Wolvar, then you may want to go there at some point.
In the vanilla days, my guild did our raiding through a guild alliance with one other guild. We got Rag down, farmed him for a month, then the next week decided to go into BWL and ended up spending the night wiping to Razorgore. When we finally got him down a month later, we wiped all over with Vael. Two weeks later was the only time we ever beat Vael which also happened to be the last time we raided a 40 man since with the expansion rumors popping up, people who were burning out just decided to stop raiding all together.

This happened to us only replace Vael with Nef. We got one kill then raids were over.
That happened to the guild I was a part of in vanilla. Only with Naxx. 40 man Naxx sucked soo much but I remember the atmosphere and encounters were so much fun. AC40 also wasnt that much fun but we only got to twin emps there before we lost steam as BC was on the horizon.

Patchwerk was our last. Well technically Grobbie but Grobbie doesn't count.
Speaking with MTV News, World of Warcraft director Sam Raimi revealed that Saving Private Ryan and The Patriot screenwriter Robert Rodat will be handling the story for the massively multiplayer movie.
Raimi chats with MTV news about being faithful to the source material and presenting characters and settings that will be familiar to World of Warcraft players, while still delivering an original story. That's where Robert Rodat comes in.
I think we would try and find touchstones within the game to make it accurate and true and choose one or some of the lands that are portrayed in the game with as much accuracy and authenticity as possible. But we would have our writer, Robert Rodat, really craft an original story within that world that feels like a 'World of WarCraft' adventure. Only obviously it's very different 'cause it's expanded and translated into the world of a motion picture.
Eh. That doesn't give me a lot of hope. The Patriot was Braveheart: 1776 and Saving Private Ryan outside the first twenty minutes was completely forgettable and in many ways insulting.

Directed by Sam Raimi and written by the guy who wrote The Patriot?

It won't be hard for me to enjoy the movie as long as there are a FEW things they include. Something to geek out on, expecting more would be silly.
Has anyone here done a faction transfer and had any problems with things not transferring over?

I've done quite a few faction transfers and everything seems to have transferred just fine.
You'll lose quest items, obviously, and any and all progress you have with the Argent Tournament, but that's about it.
Also, I was happy to find out that my Megkineer's Chopper transferred into a Mechano-Hog. I was a bit worried it might not seeing how they're BoE and it would've been stupid to ride around on Alliance chopper as Horde, but it turned out just fine.
I also lost some achievements. Not 100% sure which ones, but I have less overall achievements now than before.

I think stuff like 'For the Horde/Alliance' doesn't transfer over, though I'm not sure.
So, I have to wonder about the WoW movie. Are they hoping it will be a mainstream success? Bring in more players?
Also, the cinimatics are great. If they made a movie with that shit in it, I'd be sold. I dont care if there was a plot or not.
From what I've read at various places, the movie is supposedly going to cover the life of Arthas up until becoming evil.
So that means there's a good chance of no Tauren, since I don't really remember Arthas running into any Tauren. Or Night Elves for that matter, at least no until after becoming a death knight.
I'm looking at wowhead and the lowest level of quest in Northrend is 71. Sanity aside, does that mean I could level entirely in AV/grinding/whatever and have all quests available for gold? I mean, I've already done a few to get some shiny new leveling greens(and a blue axe)... but I'm on a new server and need tons of cash monies(and enjoying BGs doesn't hurt).
Or is 72 the last green level for 80s? I hope my brain is working correctly. It IS late/early, after all.

Maybe some of the mercenaries that he orders to burn the ships are Tauren? It's the only way.

They'll tell a story in the warcraft universe but I really doubt they'll use it to advance the overall story.
