In Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, Frost had this move you could spam that the other player could not get out of. If you hit with it once, it was an auto-win. I had a friend that showed me this in the most annoying way.

We did that for our school with Doom. Made LAN games more fun.
There is a Best Buy store map for Counterstrike. Also it apparently uses the same store model as the one I used to work at. I should track that down some day.

It's a basic fact that absolutely everyone has wanted to import their school/college/uni/work environment into their favorite FPS. You're there most of the day, and all that time you're thinking "I'd rather play X".
L4D is easily one of the best choices I've heard for this.

that's actually an excellent idea, and most of the work would be models/textures. not much gameplay change necessary beyond changing weapons around.
a flamethrower is already in the works, i'm sure, since catching on fire has already been implemented
