Portable HD problem...

Ok, so my 500GB western digital My Book has totally fucked itself it seems

I am able to access the folders and everything, but when I'm opening pictures, it's saying "drawing failed".
If I play videos (or try I guess) sometimes they open, but stuff that used to work perfectly is ghosty, pixelated, and skips. Also stuff that is half hour long, shows up in media player as WAYYYYY longer than that.

Is my drive completley borked? Is there some way to get everything off of here (it's not letting me do a copy/paste atm)? Any advice would save my ass.

EDIT: I should note that tumbnails are showing up fine for both vids and pics.

How does it connect to your PC? USB?

    Yes via usb.

I tried running a diagnostic test (WD Diagnostics), it passed the simple one, but said there were "too many bad sectors" to complete the expansive test.

By copy/paste you mean you tried the actual copy/paste command? Or did you just ctrl-c/ctrl-v it? Have you tried just dragging stuff off the HDD onto your desktop? Is the enclosure openable? You could try pulling the actual drive and sticking it in your PC connected via IDE or SATA cable.
