I am now in Vegas, and I know nothing about this place besides what I see in the movies. Where should I go and what should I see? Also what is a good way to travel around for cheap? It costs about $50 to take a taxi from here which is going to get to cost a lot after a while.
Long story short I am in the military and was told I had to be in Vegas the next day so after 24 hours of panic I am in Vegas and not too sure what to do. I will be here for two weeks.
That long story might have been made a little too short.
Where are you staying? How is your funding? What kinds of things are you interested in?

Without knowing too much about your tastes and what you like to do:
1) Drink in public
2) See the Bellagio water fountain show
3) See a Cirque de Soleil show
4) Gamble responsibly
5) Walk the strip (repeatedly)
6) Visit the Grand Canyon
7) Visit the Hoover Dam
8) Check out the Blue Man Group

If they still have it, I'd throw in the ride thing up on the Stratosphere or whatever it's called too. It's one of those shoot you up and drop you down on a needle type rides, but for some reason it's more awesome because it's on top of a building. Fun ride with an awesome view (whether it be of Vegas or the mountains).
You might want to space out your fun too. From previous threads it seems like you could get burned out of Vegas really quickly.
Can't get burned out on legal prostitution. You can, however, run out of money.
Well, fortunately Vegas doesn't have legal prostitution.
OP, you could try and drink 1760 yard margaritas! But really, people watching is always fun on the strip, see a show if you can, there are actually some fairly cheap ones. The cheapest way to get anywhere is to walk, although there are buses and a monorail thing that runs from the Strat to MGM, but I don't know that I've ever been there when it was working.

I am staying on Nellis Air Force Base, I am not really limited on my spending but I am very frugal so I try and only spend my money on things if I think it is really worth it.
I am interested in pretty much anything here, strip clubs, casinos, restaurants, shows, anything really.
The biggest problem right now is transportation to and from base.
There aren't any buses that run from the base to Vegas...?
If you're frugal, I highly suggest checking out Downtown Vegas (specifically, the area around Fremont Street). I mean, Rain is great and all, don't get me wrong, but how many twelve-dollar martinis are you going to want to drink?
Main Street Station, on the other hand, has a brewpub that serves excellent beer for $3 apiece. And these are big glasses. Also, after midnight, the price drops to $1.50 apiece. The gambling is also better down there (you'll be hard-pressed to find a $3-$5 blackjack table on the strip, for instance).
I am not sure if there is a bus that runs to base, I just got here and no one here has anyone idea about public transportation since they all own a car. I will try and check that area out though, about to leave now.
I found a bus that is about a ten minute walk, got down to what I now know was Freemont Street. I walked the entire strip. The thing I am most interested in is the escort services, all these people were handing out cards with numbers to call for girls. How do these work? I call up the number and get to hang out with some prostitute for an hour?

Prostitution is illegal in Las Vegas. Those are flyers for strippers or "shows." Some of them may be prostitutes, but the act itself is illegal within Las Vegas, and as such you shouldn't just assume.

if you want to check out free/cheap shows check out http://www.showtickets4locals.com/join.htm you need a vegas id, but most places take military as well. i work box office for a comedy club down town and we get tons of people through it, our 18.95 ticket ends up going for 4.40 to people using that service
edit:
and as for transportation, we have a bus system http://www.rtcsouthernnevada.com/, it kind of sucks, nothing compared to chicago or new york, but it can get you places. luckily we're just comming out of summer so you wont have to worry about dying of heatstroke waiting for a bus
besides touristy stuff? not really, not much local culture goin round vegas, though if youve never been to the south west In and Out makes a great burger, worth trying
also, should you not collect on the freeshowtickets4locals thing, there are ticket booths known as "tickets4tonight" that do half price tickets to shows. it seems like a scam or rip off, but its real, they exist to fill seats when a show wont sell out so they get rediculously low prices
We did vegas for a bachelor party. The numbers on those little cards are for real. Whether or not the girl on the card is the one they'll send depends on availability. They said they'd be there within a half hour when we called, but we ended up bailing and just hitting the strip for the night.
For strip clubs, Sapphire is supposed to be one of the tops in the world. But it can get costly and crowded.
Edit: Realized I only mentioned opportunities to look at naked people.
The strip itself can be fun to walk.
You could go skydiving. http://site.skydivelasvegas.com/
They semi-offer a van service. You'd have to call them and confirm that they could pick you up.
Could try and catch a boxing or MMA match. A quick check of their schedules doesn't show any in the near future, but perhaps I missed one.
