Help me set up my printer.

So I've just gotten this Brother HL-2170w printer and I'm trying to set it up.

I tried setting it up running a network cable directly from my EeePC to it, but no dice. My netbook doesn't even acknowledge it. Now I'm trying it wirelessly. It wants me to plug the printer into my router, which I did, but it's not seeing any wireless devices in the setup. Help! I have a paper I have to print for a 9:30am class.

The router is a Linksys WRT54G2 V1 if that helps.

Well, I got it working via USB, but I'd really like to get it working wirelessly. Anyone?

Your printer should have an IP address that's assigned to it by your router. This should be shown somewhere in your router's administration section. From your computer, you'll need to connect to it by Adding a printer (in control panel/printers if you're on Windows) and using the IP address to connect to a network printer.

Also, if you're plugging the printer into your router, you're not using it's wireless networking, you're using the wired networking. The manual for the printer should tell you how to set it up using the wireless option.

I know the difference between wired and wireless, thanks. To set it up you have to plug it into the router so it can configure some settings. It doesn't detect the printer when it's wired into the router. : P
