It is in SPAAAAAAACE when any acceleration will set you in motion because there's nothing to resist it.

I believe the USSR made a variant Kalashnikov that would fire in a vacuum. I don't know what they did about recoil.

Yes but what are you doing floating around without some way to move, is my point

and the recoil is very very little

I bet we could make something without any recoil at all! It's just not really that useful since we're not shooting in space.

I liked how they were already planning for the day Obama started intersattellitery war.

There were all kind of freaky plans made during the Cold War.

And yesterday I saw the test firing of a plasma rocket engine, a prototype will be tested at the ISS in 2013. Then I got to the part where, "plasma rockets were developed in the Soviet Union in 1963". Those guys probably have a perfectly good FTL space-battlecruiser in a warehouse somewhere.

also, if you don't have it, just take two guns and put them together and you've got no recoil.

Would still have recoil, if they're firing out of the tube they've got friction against the tube, if they're just being pushed into space before firing that's recoil right there

of course you could just fire two at the same time and launch one to the left and one to the right

which is the same principle recoiless rifles use

so if that works this works.

Yup that one, my jaw dropped! Really looking forward to that test flight, I hope it leads somewhere.

The blue shine was really cool, though that was apparently because they used argon gas in the test chamber, gonna use hydrogen in space. I wonder what color hydrogen plasma will be.

They had that table at the Wizards of the Coast Game Center I worked at way back in the day. Such a fun table.

The review of the 360 / PS3 version is very positive. HD, looks gorgeous, the controls and physics are supposed to be just perfect.

If I had somewhere to put it and five fucking grand to blow I would so buy an actual table. But a simulator looks pretty neat.
