Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate every little, which made him rather frail and with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him ..(Oh, man, this is so bad, it's good)..... A super calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.

A retriever is the answer, if you have the room. If not, get yourself a spaniel. They're smaller but more hyper. Both breeds build strong bonds with their owners (and are all around friendly.)

Get a new apartment? Most dog friendly apartments require an extra deposit and a small fee every month.

Of course, you have to deal with other people's barking dogs...

My dog used to like meeting people to the extent that she would sprint full-tilt towards them and throw herself at them.

This became a problem as she got bigger. One of my sister's friends, upon seeing a giant labrador thundering towards her, screamed and tried to run away, which of course only prompted the dog to run after her.

I like to think that she was scarred for lfe.

Normal advice would be "don't buy an espresso machine from Woot" but that's actually a decent consumer machine.

Yeah, I at least checked to see that it was normally one that retails for a few hundred. I mean I would be looking for something better than a $60 Mr. Coffee espresso machine, but nothing too pricey, so this looked like possibly a good bet.
