To steal from Wiki:
Saints Row 2 (abbreviated to SR2) is a sandbox-style action-adventure video game developed by Volition, Inc. and published by THQ. It is the second title in the Saints Row series. The game follows the unnamed protagonist — referred to as male in this article — who leads a fictional street gang known as the 3rd Street Saints, to whom he followed in Saints Row until he was betrayed and landed in a trauma-induced coma after a staged yacht explosion. After escaping from prison five years later and bringing the Saints to power again, the protagonist takes on the gangs who now control the city Stilwater on a quest to bring it to the Saints' power, who had controlled it in Saints Row. The game is composed of elements from third-person shooters and driving games in open world gameplay. The main game can be played through in single-player or through online co-operative play. The game also contains competitive multiplayer modes.
It's like GTA, that's really all you need to know.
In this LP I will do my best to display as much of the game as possible. Missions, activities, whatever. Given that 100% completion requires picking up a lot of stupid hidden items and other monotonous things, hence "as much as possible." Some activities I may skip if I think they're not interesting to watch and/or if I hate them (like Snatch, Escort and Crowd Control. Exceptions might be made with co-op guests.)
I'll be playing single player, though seeing that co-op is possible at pretty much any time, I may take on a guest every so often if I need help with certain activities or I feel my voice alone is probably getting tiring.
Despite my better judgment, I will allow people to post suggestions on what the character will look and sound like. Later on you'll be able to suggest different outfits as well. The main character is seen in pretty much every cutscene, so that alone could be as cool or silly as you'd like.
This is the PC port of the game, which has some issues. Personally I haven't had much trouble with it, but there are some more obvious problems. Driving with a keyboard kind of sucks for one thing, but I'm pretty used to it by now.
My suggestion is to watch the videos on my channel or youtube itself for higher viewing quality. Oh and, yes, I'm entirely aware of the various audio issues. I always try to fix them as soon as I can. I could apologize for my boring voice, too, but that's something that I can't really fix. So that you're just going to have to deal with.
Deleted this due to personal dissatisfaction with the majority of the LP in terms of technical and entertainment quality. My apologies, but perhaps it will be attempted again with a permanent co-op guest in the future to keep things interesting.

As long as they're fixed for the next installment, I'm totally in! Can't wait for the rest!
I...hrm. I don't know what to suggest, character-wise. Creation things like these, as in-depth as they are make me freeze up because the possibilities are endless.
If no one wants to do that, you can just leave it up to me. Of course, if you do, I'll probably just go with the character I made for single player because I like her.
I was honestly going to suggest that, but didn't because I didn't figure it could be pulled off.
Any way to make Squall, though? :P
As for the guy... I don't know what the game is capeable of, but make him/her the most awesome bad-ass crack addicted con you can.
As for character design, I don't know anything about the game so I am going to let others come with suggestions on what would fit and/or be funny to make the character as.
EDIT: Wait 1 suggestion based on the FFVII playthrough references above.
Cloud from the wallmarket dressup and play as an androgynous crossdresser.
Anyway, here, I re-recorded the intro. The audio should be more balanced and tolerable, but it's not perfect. My mic just isn't that great, but it's a lot easier to listen to this time. The biggest issue is that I'm basically wearing two headsets. One with the mic on it around my neck and another pair on my ears since the pair with the mic doesn't work. This causes the wire of the other headset to rub against the mic sometimes and it seems to make a bit of noise. Mic seems a bit sensitive since it's not padded. I'll do my best to minimize that sort of interference, but I can't promise anything. It shouldn't be that bad. I've already found a way to not get the cord rubbing against the mic like in this video.
Hopefully after the first few sets of this LP, most audio issues that can be fixed will be worked out. I'm already noticing how this one sounds a bit bass-y. If anyone else hears any problems that I didn't mention, feel free to let me know.
This video is still processing, so you might want to give it a bit until it's ready for HQ.

That thing has the potential to create nightmares. I was still ready to say Squall until you said it couldn't do Scars. Now I really don't know what to think.
Edit: You could try Cid? He's probably pretty easy to make, and he was pretty much a Swearing All The Time Badass.
I think imagining this is what happened to him after FFVII is better than anything the compilation has to offer.
I reckon you should make your character Bret from FoTC if possible. You know it makes sense.
I suppose after a day or so if I can't make any of the suggestions I'll just see what I can come up with on my own. I managed a pretty decent likeness of the TF2 sniper, which was fairly fitting since the cockney accent sounds kinda like him (the voices being another limiting factor.)
HAVE YOU SOH'VOIVED AH BOAT EXPLOWSHYUN?
DIDN'T THINK SO.
Therefore, the only logical MC to play as is a fragile white girl. :P
Gets my vote! And think as much gameplay as possible should use various other players in coop. Even if they have everything unlocked, you can just tell them to hit their crib first and switch to wimpier weapons first.
Then halfway through I was like "Man, it'd be cool to be some puny little fashion model gang leader who then shoots everyone everywhere."
But then I was all "But damn, I have worked my ass off to get infinite ammo for like every weapon and become a crazy god of gangs... I don't want to switch games"
And then I realized that in the same game I could totally change everything, including my gender and voice, of my character. So awesome.
There is no customization here.
There is only Duke Nukem.
Michael Scott or Dwight from The Office? Seems like they would be easy to make.
It might take awhile but I have a feeling that it would be well worth it. I mean what could be any funnier than Theodore Roosevelt running down the street with an AK-47 yelling, "The only thing you have to fear is me eating your corpses hookers!"

And yes, I do plan on doing some co-op with other people, especially since some activities are difficult on their own. If you have the game and are interested in that, you can post here and maybe tell me when is good for you. The first set or two is just going to be me though. It would also be good if you had Skype.
I made Billy Mays as my character though. I really should take a screen of him cause he looks great.
I never asked for this!
When I was playing this, my character was this scrawny asian guy with the Steel Battalion tshirt and a school backpack (which I was assuming was where he kept his eleventy billion guns), but towards the end of the game I kinda wanted to see all the female clothing options that I had been ignoring. So I saved my game, went to the plastic surgeon, and messed around with the options, ending up with this older, librarian-looking lady. After doing a mission or two I decided to go back, so I load my save... and I'm still the lady. After being frustrated over that for a bit I just ended up completing the game that way. It was actually amusing seeing this librarian/corporate CEO lady in a business suit mowing people down with a minigun, so it wasn't a total loss.
Seriously considering just using Viddler, even if it isn't as good quality. Would save me from cutting up in 11 minute segments, too.
But here we go. There are still some audio issues to work out, but it'll happen. Watch directly on Youtube for best quality. Some are still processing. Give some time for HD.

And to reiterate, if you want to be in the LP and do some co-op, let me know when you're available.
Copyright laws are fucked up, basically. I kinda wonder how Youtube filters that. I mean, the song itself is in the game. If you drove around while it was on the radio for the entirety of the song, would that set off whatever script they have, too?
Whatever though. Ode To Joy was good enough. On an unrelated note, I just had my first instance of "hey, my shit didn't record" so huzzah. Was just a mission and one activity, but I'm beginning to rethink my statement that I would try to complete as much of the game as possible. I think I'm just going to go through all the missions and only do the more interesting/fun activities. That alone will probably be about 20 hours of game.
Or people can just tell me that I suck at this and save me the time!
I've watched the first two videos, I'll finish the other two once I'm done writing up my objective description of a fridge :x (Don't ask).
EDIT: ITT we learn that Adus' biggest foe won't be any of the in-game factions, but tutorial pop-ups.
I quite enjoyed this set, with special mentions going to:
"Dukey, my cousin!"
Can't wait for the next one.
Not a bad start, I'll be following the thread.
You can just setup coop before you start playing and then people can jump in and out whenever they see you online. Do a mission where your coop player changes at every checkpoint, lol.
As far as people just jumping in for co-op, I might do that, but it sounds more like a hassle to me for various reasons. I'd prefer to setup 'guests' ahead of time if possible. I might still leave co-op open though. We'll see.
The audio is still a bit off, at times, I could barely hear you, but the game volume was pretty consistently good (except for when it went crazy loud, which, of course, is the game itself and not your fault.) but it's getting there.
And yeah, previous jeans thing aside, the likeness is really pretty good.
That's my fault really. Pretty much my whole life I've had to repeat myself to people for not talking loud enough. I start off pretty well, but as soon as I've been recording for like 30 minutes, I begin to relax and speak normally, and normally is softly. I tried to turn my mic up a bit more this time.
Actually I bought a new headset to deal with some of the other clicks and shit and then felt like an idiot as once I opened it up, noticed it was a USB headset. Meaning it doesn't plug into my soundcard, therefore I couldn't set up to record both game and mic audio. If there's some way to do that I've never heard about, please let me know.
I forgot to fix the jeans. I'll do that next set.
Anyway, here's the next set. Some is still processing. If you don't like my music choices, then tough.

I never asked for this!
Last video is still processing, but I'm glad you did Fuzz, that's my favourite side-quest. I love that many of the crimes you are breaking up are the other side-quests the game has on offer.
And I feel sorry for Pierce as well, poor guy.
I gotta say, I like the idea of having a music bed over the activities and doing what looks like the highlights of it, seeing as you can only talk about how you have to cover an area in shit so many times, or kill mans with a chainsaw so many times. At least this way it's still showing us the game, but not drawing it out.
This isn't the last time Pierce will get out-voted when he tries to be reasonable, is it?
My schedule is pretty flexible though, so if someone has an hour or so to just run through a few missions or activities, let me know when is good for you.
And yeah, I like adding music. I'll try not to overdo it, but I only add it in post if I feel like I had a stretch where there was little to no good commentary. Pretty much the entirety of Septic Avenger and the second half of Fuzz I couldn't think of anything to say. Same went for Insurance Fraud but that was in the lost video. Though I think that activity would be pretty funny in fast motion to Yakety Saks, even as overused as it is.
As far as future music is concerned, I hope you like metal, cause uh, that's 99% of my library. From symphonic death metal to classic Iron Maiden.
