Ni-MH batteries and a old Ni-Cd Charger

Now then, I just got some pretty awesome 2300 mAH Ni-MH batteries from Radio Shack today. The charger that I currently use was for NI-Cd batteries. It's a great charger, has something like 12-16 stations, and only a 6 hour charge. Are they compatible? If not, can I return the batteries unopened? I just bought these, receipt in hand and all, unopened. Thanks in advance guys.

You can't charge Ni-MH in a Ni-Cd charger. They use different methods for knowing when charging is complete.

no, they are not compatible. they charge at different voltages.

yes, we take back unopened batteries within a reasonable time frame.

might want to look into buying a ni-mh/ni-cd charger instead though. a large one that charges all sizes of both types is only about $30.
