Thanks. Yeah I played the GBA rerelease of it a few years back, and had fun with its simple charm. But it was ridiculously easy. I read up and I know the NES one is a lot harder, which is good to me.
Also can ya clarify what that glitch is? That bit confused me.
Ninja Gaiden Arcade came out in europe. Very disappointing.
Imagine if Final Fight gave you next to no room to move around enemies. To throw someone, you have to jump and attack at the right time. There's no jump attack in and of itself, which is quite painful. Very simplistic and old school arcade difficulty on top of that.
You can beat it, because you can have infinite credits, but I didn't bother. Be warned folks. Outside of nostalgia, if you really want a scrolling beat em up, there's already the Golden Axe and Streets of Rage series' and Final Fight 2 has 2 player.

Dama, I am enjoying Excitebike quite a bit. It is every bit as simple as the original with smooth new graphics and online multiplayer.
If I were making dollar/value judgements, I would have already gotten my money's worth. The thing that I like is that there is just enough value in replaying levels to keep you working towards the better ranks.

Demos!? Excellent news. After being burned by MLaaDL (nothing against the game, I just get bored with Tower Defence games far too quickly) I've been put off Wii Shopping somewhat. Looking forward to trying out Nyx and Bit.
Woah! I just noticed that the nintendo site says the BBC iPlayer channel is now active. Has anyone (in the UK) given it a whirl?
Edit: I can't read, it's out Wednesday.

Demos, Pokemon Rumble, and INDIANA JONES GREATEST ADVENTURES!!!!!!
I loved that game on the SNES. Rumble is a bit pricey for me....I'll have to wait till I try the demo for it.
Is that Indy game any good? For some reason I have no recollection of it.
Finally I will be able to try the game these forums rave about. Bit.Trip.Beat. I don't expect to like it. I still plan on buying Nyxquest some day when my backlog eases. Maybe I'll give the demo a spin.

Indiana Jones was a pretty awesome SNES game, and I played it quite a bit.
Indy's Greatest Adventures! Awesome! I remember renting that a long time ago and enjoying it a lot. That was done by Factor 5, right? Too bad my Wii can't get online until I can get a wireless router - the USB Wi-Fi connector doesn't seem to cut it anymore. I'm kind of on an Indy kick right now - I rented Staff of Kings from Gamefly, which wasn't bad apart from the wonky motion controls, but it comes with Fate of Atlantis (which has been great), so it kind of evens out.
Still no Cave Story, though, which is kind of a bummer.
Nice. I bet it's more important for people to download the demos and then purchase the games, though.
I wonder how much of Bit.Trip Beat they show.
The first level, which is a lot considering that the game has three levels in total. Reminds me that I still haven't unlocked the third one.
The third level is pure hell. I do not think I will ever finish it.
edit: Also happy to see the demos out here too. I've really been wanting to try Nyx Quest, and might check out My Life as a Dark Lord too.
It feels so rewarding when you finally do finish the 3rd level. You definitely have a sense of accomplishment doing so. It is a pain though, since you have to start over from the beginning every time, and I must admit that I did watch a YouTube video of someone else playing it so I could really see what was happening in one or two particular sections.
edit: I was just watching the video of the last level again, and saw that that guy had major problems in one of the spots I had major problems too. I remember that as being a spot where you had to have the multiplier bonus on going into it so even if you completely screwed up, you wouldn't die - just go into the black and white. Yeah, it's really evil.

Alright, demos, cool. I got the bittrip beat, finished it, and was in agony from being 100 points short. The pokemon rumble game is okay, I don't know. I got a hypno and he owned house until I got some power 100 dudes and couldn't play anymore.
Is that Indiana Jones game as difficult as those SNES Star Wars games? I downloaded the first two SW games and I can't even play them anymore for fear of chucking my Wiimote at the TV.

They pokemon game looked pretty solid in the demo; I went ahead and picked it up to play with my nephew, since he's in a pokemon phase these days.
FF:MLaaDL was fun to play around with, but I haven't decided whether I like it enough to want to buy the whole thing. Haven't tried the others yet.
My main problem with Darklord is that it felt like progression was really slow and the cynical me thinks this was an attempt to get DLC sold (don't stick many new monsters in the main game so that you're more inclined to buy the DLC).

It's a pretty tough game. I had a lot of trouble with it as a kid, and I pulled it out about a year ago to have another go at it, but still failed miserably.
Love the demos. Tried Bit.Trip Beat, NyxQuest, and Darklord... Definitely have to check out NyxQuest (and get Lost Winds 2!) when I'm less bogged down with work. I'm glad that Nintendo decided to try out demos... I hope that they're monitoring how many people download them and that the whole experiment has positive results.
Just played the Pokemon game and I think I'm sold. I mean, $15 for something that I'm gonna sink plenty of hours into ...
I never got Pokemon Ranch, not because of the cuteness factor, but because they couldn't ravage each other with violent acts of supernatural nature. Now I have that, in bobblehead form no less.

Wow, I feel exactly the same. The ending of the demo was unsatisfactory though, I didn't even get a "congratulations, you beat the level!" just fade out and start of the Wii shop channel :?
I wasn't hugely enamoured of the fact that they reward you for doing well by obscuring the screen with effects and instantly causing me to start missing the dots again. I'm sure were I to purchase it I'd get used to it with practice.
Was that the end of the level it reached when it faded out or was there more to go?
