Spent two hours getting into fights to try and finish the Casanova one, then it glitched.
And don't even get me started on High Diver.
Isn't High Diver the "jump off the Eiffel Tower and survive" one? It's really easy.
Casanova and the cig smoking one are bullshit, though.
I've got the cig smoking achievement.
The Eiffel Tower one I've done probably two dozen times now, even following exactly the actions of a youtube where it worked perfectly, and i always come up 10 feet short of that stupid pool.
It would be different if I could just save on the tower, but I've got to respawn, spawn a car, drive through two roadblocks and a quarter of the city to try again. Screw that.
Try clicking in the stick to get a running jump. The platform has a little ramp to give some extra air.
Oh, I've been running. I've tried virtually every combination of jump timing + speed + angle at this point. I think my pool might just be further away than everyone elses. :?
I doubt it. I mean, with a running jump I've been able to clear entire streets and hop rooftop to rooftop. Are you aiming for the right pool?
I've been aiming for the pool on the river side of the tower, which is the only pool I see. I'm routinely jumping from rooftop to rooftop or even tower to tower in the right situations, and I know the difference between jogging and running. This jump just consistently ends with my head slamming into the stone roughly 4 feet short of the pool.

Out of curiosity, is what you're trying the same thing as the IGN video available on the 360 dashboard?

I clocked in at 76.52 just 20 minutes ago. Even though Treasure Hunter was a bitch to collect for, I actually want more stuff to do in FFXIII, but all superbosses are defeated (if you could call The Doomherald or Long Gui that,
thought they were easier than I expected.) I want more hidden superbosses.
I'm @ 60 hours (55ish actual play).
I was doing the titan missions and the iirc those missions contain the last of the accessories I need for treasure hunter, but now I think I'm going to switch over to farming gil to buy the mats to do the weapons upgrading. But I think I'm going to try and get the double CP thing first so I can try and pick up some the slack there on the back-end.
I think I can kill the turtles normally, but the fight would probably take too long to bother with doing like that. I thought the Neochu fight would be hard but I proc'd instant stagger and it was over. I'm hoping/assuming the same thing will happen on the other mission with him, heh.
And all the while more games are arriving, and the backlog grows. =\

That's one of the methods I've tried, yeah.
Have you tried clearing the HDD cache?
I'd hate to suggest deleting your saves and starting all over, but that might be a last resort... That, or you are, in fact, just 'doing it wrong'.
I just checked out the Achievement Hunter video and it seems like you have to jump off the pole at a really specific place, further to the right than you might think.

I've been working towards 1000/1000 on Warriors Orochi 2. I'm a fan of the Warriors games but there are still many times when I wanted to kick a Koei developer in the balls hard enough to hear a thunderclap.
Your fighting system blows. If you start to get hit there isn't shit you can do unless you blow your musou to get out of it. God help you if you get knocked off your feet because then all you can do is feebly tap the flip button, knowing that you're screwed. On Chaos difficulty, you take a ton of damage, every tiny little poke makes you falter and leaves you open for an ass-reaming. But... the only way to do any actual damage on Chaos difficulty is to use upgrades which require your musou bar to be full. So in the very likely event that you get tapped by one of the thousands of men who hate you and then an officer starts to take away half of your health in one combo, blowing your musou as your only means of escape means you will now do all the damage of a man swinging a marshmallow sword.
More on topic though, god damn some of the achievements are tedious. Beat all of the levels, well duh. Beat all of the level on every difficulty? Not just the hardest, all of them. So that's 40 missions and 28 dream modes on 4 difficulties each. So... 272 levels. Many of which can't be rushed but require meeting numerous objectives, guiding people around, and waiting for events to trigger.
Even after you've done that and you total proficiency with all of the characters is ~1,500, get it up to 2,750 to unlock the last stage. How? Grinding like a mother fucker, of course!
Sweet Christ, Koei. Little less time on grinding 50 characters to max and a little more on new gameplay, assholes.

I just finished Vandal Hearts: The flames of Judgement
I didn't keep a record of who I favoured throughout so I strongly suspect a new playthrough would be required to get the last two secret achievements and I missed a ton of optional stages.
Of course, the optional levels were basically useless, as you never got any equipables you hadn't already bought in the shop lots earlier.
But dear god, what is up with the art style? I thought I was being punked when I first booted it up.
And the story and dialogue was ...urgh, terrible. The ending is.... stupid beyond words. On the plus side it has the little "this is what happened to each character bit" which is nice and there should be more of.

Urgh, Perfect Dark "Earn all of the leaderboard crowns"? Fuck you!
Hahaha oh man. Is that for the weapon practice shit? So sad that's not on PS3. In other news, thanks to the valiant struggles of JJ (and a nice 8/3 W/L ratio against him) I am now one level 5 multiplayer trophy richer.

There's the weapon practice stuff as well, but it's not so bad, you only need to get a bronze on every weapon, which isn't awesome, but not terrible. I think the leaderboard crowns are multiplayer nonsense.

Yep. Perfect Dark is an old favorite, one of the few things I'm sad I don't have a 360 to play (the remake.) Looks like the leaderboard challenges are a bunch of miniachievements. Interesting.

Anyone know if there's any sort of a Trophy to Achievement score converter or anything? I do most of my gaming on my PS3 and I was just wondering, if I were to convert all my trophies to achievements, what would my Gamerscore be?

Not that I know of. The problem is that while Microsoft is much more open with its Live Community APIs, it's still not that open. Sony is even worse.
You could cross reference with 360achievements.org, but it's not going to be automated. You can be happy that any Platnium trophies for Retail games are 1000 in total.
I was running through all the side-quests in Mass Effect 2 (did a lot of awesome ones for the first time, even) trying to get to Level 30 for the Power Gamer achievement before the Kasumi DLC dropped.
Literally completed every mission, ended up about 500 experience points short. Since ever side mission was giving 175 exp, I figured there was no way I'd get the achievement with this character and would have to get it with another one who gets the experience bonus from the get-go.
But then I played through the Kasumi's loyalty mission and got 900+ experience, and a two-fer to finish off my ME2 achievements.

I don't think you can really convert trophies to achievements because as far as I know, achievements are out of 1000, but Trophies don't really have a preset limit. It just has percentage on the trophy screen.

You also have games where the two don't line up at all. I know that Burnout Paradise has a ton more trophies on PS3 than it has achievements on the 360. Because every DLC got new trophies on the PS3 while it just got more Paradise awards (or whatever they're called) on the 360.
The base game also have different trophy criteria and achievement criteria. 360 achievements are just Paradise awards with gamerscore attached. PS3 trophies are a completely different entity and reward you for different things.

I don't even care that much about trophies but yeah, it kinda sucks when I go to pick up an older Multiplatform game on PS3 and it doesn't have trophies, like Stranglehold.

Anyone know if there's a way to go back and replay the bosses in Crackdown?
I haven't tried Crime On yet but Primus and I finished the co-op multiplayer last night; problem is, when we started he only had two guys left of Los Muertos, so we didn't do the first 5 of those in co-op and need to for the achievement.
My wife and I are playing Indiana Jones 2 and there's, no doubt, an achievement linked to getting "True Adventurer" on all stages (or something that requires you to 100% a section which would require the same thing plus more). Point is, some of the story missions (very few) we've not gotten True Adventurer but when we try to replay them we just go to the bonus areas instead.
