The game shipped with all the standard point-based Achievements, all the extra ones came after some updates and bonus content which was downloadable some months after launch.
And yeah, this was before they had really got the Achievement formulas down, these days all that DLC would probably come with point-based Achievements and cost £££ to boot...
I like games that have 0 point achievements for things that are not good. Its essentially branding you with a mark of shame, and I think its funny. It doesn't hurt anything, but you'll never be able to delete "Failed a song on easy", and everyone will see it forever.

Haha I did that one deliberately, I was like "watch me get this Achievement" after a few beers, before flailing around on the plastic axe like a moron and crashing out on Easy. Got some confused looks before BA-DOINK! hit the screen.
Anyone know if there's a way to go back and replay the bosses in Crackdown?
I haven't tried Crime On yet but Primus and I finished the co-op multiplayer last night; problem is, when we started he only had two guys left of Los Muertos, so we didn't do the first 5 of those in co-op and need to for the achievement.
I haven't played crackdown in forever but I'm pretty sure there's a time trials mode or something where you can replay each boss. I don't know if these work with the achievement.
Man I hope so or getting those bosses is going to be a chore.
On the plus side, climbing to the top of the tower was super easy with 4-starred Agility. Now to find a way to grind out driving....
One of the free DLC packs allows you to 'reset' the game world. That should do it.
My wife and I are playing Indiana Jones 2 and there's, no doubt, an achievement linked to getting "True Adventurer" on all stages (or something that requires you to 100% a section which would require the same thing plus more). Point is, some of the story missions (very few) we've not gotten True Adventurer but when we try to replay them we just go to the bonus areas instead.
Is there anyway to replay story missions?
If IJ2 is anything like the other LEGO games, then you should have the choice to either enter the level and play the story version or the free play version.

I wish, it's definitely different than all the others.

I popped 1000/1000 on that recently! lol... Yes you can go back and redo the story mode versions. There's two ways to do it:
When you first open an adventure box (it shows all the levels) you can pick the level you want to go to. IIRC the first row has all the story mode missions.
In the game itself, the arrow for stages that have two modes will alternate (yellow is bonus, green is story iirc), but you must beat the bonus area first before you can choose between the two stages in-game.

Man, I haven't played a game I wanted to try and 1000/1000 in a while. Max roles/items in FF13 was waaay too grindy, I didn't like Bioshock 2 MP anywhere enough to get to 50, and I'm about to start Deadly Premonition which lacks staggered difficulty achievements.
I'll probably try and 200/200 MM10, even though the super hard ones being doable on easy makes me less excited to try and complete them. I typically try and beat all the robot masters with the mega buster first time around and was doing this long before achievements, but damn, I don't know if I'm out of practice or something but some of these guys' patterns are tough!

My favorite example of 0 point achievements is probably still Secret Service.
"Pin Dropper" - Kill yourself with a grenade.
"Marksman" - Fire an entire clip without hitting anything.
"That's The Exact Opposite Of Your Job" - Shoot the President.
I got a competition going at another forum, the "2010 Death Race to 10K". Basically everyone threw in their score on Jan 1st and tries to increase by 10K by the end of the year
I started on Jan 1st with 52,050 and am about to hit 60K this week. And I'm in 2nd place

what's your completion % though? I've only put in about 5,6k ish points so far this year but that's about an 80% completion rate. AVP, ODST and Mass Effect's Insanity playthroughs were major hits I had to eat.
10k is pretty easy to get though if you just buy a bunch of games and play em halfway. there any other rules to that challenge of yours?

No rules, no holds barred. Basically you have til 12/31/2010 to increase your gamerscore 10K. I'm not a "completion percentage" guy and I don't think anyone else in the contest really is either. I just play through a lot of games and collect what comes with that. If there's some funky MP ones to get with friends or something I read that sounds interesting I can get along the way I'll nab it but I think my "total games complete" list is at like 6-7 over 3+ years
Just got 1015/1000(?) on ME2. Holy shit that Insanity run was rough. Well... There were 3 parts to the game that were rough. Last boss, the platforms, and something else that I blocked out of my memory.

You don't have the Kasumi DLC? Because my completed ME2 total is 1030.

Nah. I have a hard time justifying paying for DLC if it's a single mission and new companion. I couldn't do it in Dragon Age and I couldn't do it on this game. I don't have a job right now so I have to be really stingy with my purchases.

It's not very good, costs too much, and gives you a character you don't want because you've just beaten the game twice already and aren't looking for a 3rd time 'round.
Goddammit. I go back to try and get some achievements on the XBox Live Arcade Hits Collection and the fucking disc won't load for some reason. Just spins up, then stops and throws me back to the dashboard.
Hmmm. I haven't played it in so long I may have forgotten how to access them correctly. This sounds like the way to do it. If this works I will love you forever because you have fixed my problem, but I will hate you as well because you have pointed out how dumb I am. So it's a mixed bag.
Oh thank God. I just got the "I Will Survive" achievement on Turtles in Time: Reshelled, which I thought would be the actual death of my soul. Beating a game that's programmed like the old arcade (where enemies cheese you to death to get more quarters) on one life is fucking hard.
Or I'm an enormous pansy. I'm willing to accept either at this point. I'm just glad I finally got that S-rank.
Man it really sucks when I'm pretty much down to driving-related achievements in Crackdown...and I can't drive. I literally had to spend time just practicing steering and that on the freeway because I'm determined to get good at it.

yea, the driving achievements and the MP ones are about all that's left for me as well iirc.
I stopped trying to do the races though because some of the tracks pretty much require you to run over people to complete them. In doing so, taking a hit your driving XP and it just wasn't fun doing it (at least to me). Driving through that shopping district and junk just felt bad. =\
Crackdown 2! COMING SOON though, yay.

H Jay said one of the easiest ways to get driving XP is to have a buddy throw you at people while you're in the car so I might have to do that...still haven't even 4-starred it yet because finding people to run over is a pain without hitting civilians.
Holy fucking hell. FUCK Army of Two: TFD's "don't die on a chapter" achievement. I fucking got it for my friend because I keep all the aggro but I can't get it myself because I'm the only one who knows how to play games. Fucking redid the first level about 4 times... Finally "got" it but fucking found out my friend needed to be on Normal and above as well. So we tried again and died at the fucking shotgun part.
God I'm so fucking pissed. Fucking game was lame as shit anyway.
another good way to rack up driving skill is load up the time trial on the gang leader (diaz i think was his name) in the stunt arena in los muertos. it's filled with enemies and cars, and you just steal one of the cars for some death. i used this one to get my rampage achievement too.

So, if I only grab the ones worth points and get 1000/1000, does it show up under my "Games Completed" tab?
No. You need to get all the achievements for it to show up there even if they're zero point achievements.
