I suppose when you put up a giant billboard advertising your game in NYC, it's a pretty safe bet you're planning on sticking to your release date of April 27th. I think we can start getting excited again.
EDIT: I know they said they're keeping the music composer a secret, but this confirms my very firm suspicion that it's the guy who did the Bully soundtrack. The bass in the "My Name is John Marston" trailer clued me in, but his use of chimes in this one seals it.
Although there are a couple of bits of slowdown the facial models/animations continue to amaze me.
Why would they keep the composer a secret? I would definitely want to be credited for my work.
Not like that, you goose, they said in an interview that they're waiting for a big reveal. God forbid they try to use some secrecy to pique peoples' interest.
Although they're gonna be screwed when they have The Residents do the score for their next game.
Oh, that makes more sense. I guess I don't know enough game composers that I would really care about a reveal for any of them.
Considering the kind of talent Rockstar gets for the radio stations on GTA, I doubt they'd use a composer who normally works on games, no matter how accomplished.

Noone knows enough about game composers for them to be a big reveal. Shawn Lee isn't a name you hold back to build excitement, it's a name you release for people to go "Oh... wait, he did Bully? Sweet."

The rumour I heard was Nick Cave.
Really, the only GAME composer out there is Tommy Tallarico. Everything is else "Oh sweet, the guy who did the music for [TV SHOW] is doing this game soundtrack? Awesome"
I think it's a little funny that the quickdraw system is essentially a copy of that from Juarez, but I'll forgive Rockstar if they put out a great game.
Is it just me or does the framerate still seem a bit choppy?

Although for spooky timing, before clicking the thread I just popped in the UC2 soundtrack.
Yeah, machinegun, the deadeye AND the quickdraw thing were first in Red Dead Revolver, which came out well before Call of Juarez. Call of Juarez stole it from RDR.

If they got Michael Giacchino to compose the score to their video game I'd basically flip my shit
One of my favorite lets plays archives has to be the one on GUN, since that game is so completely badshit. It's like every western cliche thrown into a blender and shot out of a barrel of Jack Daniels. I especially loved the riffing on the poor Indian aptly named, "Many Wounds".

Well yeah, but it's not a finished game. Framerate is typically one of the last things to get nailed down.
So, this needs to be like Unforgiven.
Or at least let you do the thing with a cart full of barrels from Fistful of Dollars.
The main character is a reformed outlaw trying to live a quiet life on a farm with his wife and children until he's pulled back and forced to confront his old habits. The only way it could be more like Unforgiven is if they actually cast Hackman and Freeman.

Have they announced the VA-ers yet? Because man, you got me all wishing now. :x

Nope. Only person I know for certain is Wil Wheaton, who tweeted about doing some voice work way back when. I think Rockstar's getting away from celebrity voice talent these days, though. Could go either way. My money's on a cast of relative unknowns, like GTA4.
Celebs are good if they can do a decent job of Voice acting. Like ME2 with Martin Sheen, I wasn't too impressed with the job he did in comparison to the unknowns there.
Wasn't ME2 like, Dreamworks animated film-chocked full of celebs? It had like, the entire crew of the Enterprise.
That's actually not true at all!
It had Martin Sheen, Adam Baldwin, Michael Dorn, that guy (and that chick) from BSG, and Seth Green
Oh and Carrie-Ann Moss but it's not like she was doing anything
Which guy from BSG? I only placed Tricia Helfer. And who was Michael Dorn voicing?
Saul, I forget his real name. He voiced the C-sec captain on Ilium, the guy you get help from on Thanes loyalty quest.
There was also Claudia Black and Yvonne Strahovsky too. Oh, and Keith David as anderson.
I still say there won't be any big names in this. We've seen enough big characters that you'd expect to have high-caliber talent behind them speaking in trailers; the government agent, the marshall, Bill Williamson, Marston himself. I figure if none of those guys are voiced by big names, there most likely won't be many.

Ooohhh, yeah, forgot him. I knew he was in it. Who the hell did Claudia Black voice? I saw her in the credits but missed the name.
bit part, one of the Quarian admirals in Tali's loyalty quest. Zen or Xen I think. The only voice I could't place was Carrie-Ann Moss' as Aria. That one threw me way off.

Once I knew it was her I thought back to her line 'I am Omega' and I could definitely hear it. She just doesn't have a distinctive voice to place it without knowing.
I had a passing intrest in the first game but had no monies at the time but now I do! So i bought a new copy for the Xbox off Amazon market place. Hopefully its as cool as it sounds.

I was going to go with the PC version, but the GTA 4 port does not give me confidence in that.

You know you get a different pre-order bonus depending on where you order it right?

Um, no...
But Amazon has a $10 gift card for a future purchase which adding on the $10 G I'll get from Bad Company 2 then RDR shouldn't be too bad to purchase from there.

The fact that he's not doing this PROVES that they're working on Uncharted 3, obviously.
Is it just me or does the framerate still seem a bit choppy?
